agnes-free-video

agnes-free-video is a skill for Codex from kangarooking/agnes-free-model-skills. It costs 95 tokens per session (774 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for creating and retrieving videos with Sapiens AI's Agnes-Video-V2.0 model. It covers text-to-video, image-to-video, multiple images, keyframe transitions, polling, and downloading results.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create videos from text or images, animate keyframes, check generation status, and save completed videos.
Why use it?
It gives the commands and workflow needed for an asynchronous video-generation API, where a result may be returned later rather than immediately.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is --output-dir ./outputs/agnes-free-video.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00095 $0.00774
Opus 5 $0.00048 $0.00387
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00155
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00077

Security

Grade A, and why

agnes-free-video scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/agnes_video.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agnes Free Video

Use this skill to create and poll asynchronous video generation tasks with agnes-video-v2.0.

Credential Rule

Read the API key from the environment. Do not hardcode keys in prompts, scripts, skill files, commits, or shell history.

Preferred variable:

export AGNES_API_KEY="..."

The helper also accepts AGNES_TOKEN as a fallback.

Quick Start

Text-to-video:

python3 scripts/agnes_video.py create \
--prompt "A cinematic shot of a cat walking on the beach at sunset, soft ocean waves, warm golden lighting, realistic motion" \
  --width 1152 \
  --height 768 \
  --num-frames 121 \
  --frame-rate 24 \
  --output-dir ./outputs/agnes-free-video

Image-to-video:

python3 scripts/agnes_video.py create \
--prompt "Animate the product with a slow camera push-in, soft studio reflections, stable identity" \
  --image-url "https://example.com/product.png" \
  --num-frames 121 \
  --frame-rate 24

Keyframe transition:

python3 scripts/agnes_video.py create \
--prompt "Create a smooth cinematic transition between the keyframes with natural pacing" \
  --image-url "https://example.com/keyframe1.png" \
  --image-url "https://example.com/keyframe2.png" \
  --mode keyframes \
  --num-frames 121

Check an existing task:

python3 scripts/agnes_video.py status \
  --task-id task_123456 \
  --download \
  --output-dir ./outputs/agnes-free-video

Validate request shape without calling the API:

python3 scripts/agnes_video.py create \
--prompt "A short cinematic AI product teaser, slow dolly shot, clean lighting" \
  --num-frames 81 \
  --dry-run

Workflow

  1. Decide the mode: text-to-video, image-to-video, multi-image, or keyframe animation.
  2. Write the prompt with subject, action, scene, camera movement, lighting, and style.
  3. Keep num_frames at 81, 121, 161, 241, or 441 unless the user has a specific duration need.
  4. Use scripts/agnes_video.py create to submit and poll. Use status if the user already has a task ID.
  5. Download the video_url promptly when it appears.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
