emulator-mcp: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/continuity-keeper/SKILL.md

continuity-keeper is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from KanonZombie/emulator-mcp. It costs 31 tokens per session (242 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A skill for preserving project memory and checking previous decisions before and after coding work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reading project-state and decision files before edits, making incremental changes, and updating project memory after implementation.
Why use it?
It reduces the risk of breaking established architecture, constraints, or earlier choices when changing a project.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md.

This is KanonZombie/emulator-mcp's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on emulator-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything emulator-mcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00031 $0.00242
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00121
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00048
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00024

Measured 7d ago against content hash 89865646e08f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

continuity-keeper scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Continuity Keeper Skill

Before changing code:

  1. Read AGENTS.md.
  2. Read docs/ai/PROJECT_STATE.md.
  3. Read docs/ai/DONT_BREAK.md.
  4. Read docs/ai/DECISIONS.md.
  5. Summarize:
    • current architecture
    • relevant previous decisions
    • possible conflicts with the new request
    • files likely affected

During implementation:

  • Prefer incremental changes.
  • Do not delete existing behavior unless the user explicitly requested it.
  • If replacing an old mechanism, preserve compatibility or document the migration.
  • Mark temporary shortcuts as TEMPORARY.

After implementation:

  1. Update docs/ai/PROJECT_STATE.md with the new state.
  2. Add important decisions to docs/ai/DECISIONS.md.
  3. Add any new "do not break" constraints to docs/ai/DONT_BREAK.md.
  4. Add completed/pending work to docs/ai/CHANGELOG_AI.md.
  5. Report what memory files were updated.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

continuity-keeper is a skill published in the GitHub repository KanonZombie/emulator-mcp (0 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 242 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
