seo-auditor

seo-auditor is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from kennyzir/7deer_skills. It costs 30 tokens per session (484 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A framework and checklist for reviewing a website’s search-engine optimization, or SEO—the details that help search engines understand and index pages. It covers metadata, structured data, content, performance, and common HTML checks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Auditing new or updated pages, checking them against documented SEO standards, creating audit checklists, and running a script against built HTML to detect common issues.
Why use it?
SEO problems can make pages harder for search engines to interpret or display correctly. A repeatable checklist plus basic automated checks helps catch omissions such as missing headings, metadata, or canonical links.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is node .agent/skills/seo-auditor/resources/audit_rules.js ./out/index.html.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00484
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00242
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00097
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

seo-auditor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (resources/audit_rules.js), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

SEO Auditor

A battle-tested SEO audit framework extracted from real-world high-traffic projects. Use this to systematically review any new website or page for SEO compliance.

Resources Included

  1. resources/seo_standards.md: The Core Knowledge Base. Detailed guidelines on Metadata, Schema, Content, and Performance standards.
  2. resources/checklist_template.md: A generalized Markdown checklist for auditing any page.
  3. resources/audit_rules.js: A simple Node.js script to check common SEO issues (H1, Meta Tags, Canonical).

Usage

1. Manual Audit (The Golden Standard)

For every significant page update or new feature:

  1. Read the Standards: Review resources/seo_standards.md to understand the Why and How.
  2. Create a Checklist: Copy resources/checklist_template.md to your project (e.g., docs/audits/PAGE_NAME_AUDIT.md).
  3. Verify & Check: Go through each item. Do not just tick the box—verify it against the standards.

2. Automated Check (Sanity Check)

Run the audit_rules.js script against your built HTML files to catch obvious errors:

# Example
node .agent/skills/seo-auditor/resources/audit_rules.js ./out/index.html

Quick Reference (Top 5 Rules)

  1. Title: 50-60 chars, unique, dynamic date (e.g. "(June 2026)").
  2. Canonical: ALWAYS set, ALWAYS use trailing slash (/path/).
  3. Schema: Use FAQPage (5+ Qs) or HowTo to capture rich results.
  4. Internal Links: Every page needs 3-6 outgoing links in a "Related" section.
  5. Performance: HTML size < 150KB, use <Image> component.
Files

What ships with it

3 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
