Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00064 $0.01315
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.00658
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00263
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00131

Security

Grade A, and why

design-canvas scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Canvas Design Skill

Degree of freedom: MIXED. Movement name and composition [HIGH freedom]; brand-asset inventory [LOW freedom — run exactly].

Create design philosophies that are expressed visually. Output .md files (philosophy) and .pdf/.png files (visual art).

How to reason

  1. Inventory — existing brand assets and visual language
  2. Name — 1–2 word movement
  3. Compose — form, space, color; text as accent only
  4. Refine — second pass; nothing overlaps; museum craft

Worked example

Inventory: wordmark in public/brand/; no poster system; palette is charcoal + one red. Name: "Chromatic Silence". Compose: one red field, monumental type as shape, 12pt label only; no paragraph copy. Refine: crop so the wordmark does not collide; export PNG at print dpi.

Self-critique before reporting

  • Brand-first — new art complements existing assets; it does not invent a second identity
  • Text is accent — no paragraph dump on the canvas
  • Craft pass — second refine happened; nothing overlaps or clips
  • Right owner — UI chrome → design-frontend; data charts → data-visualization; token SSOT → design-system

Process

Step 1: Design Philosophy Creation [HIGH freedom]

Create a VISUAL PHILOSOPHY that will be expressed through:

  • Form, space, color, composition
  • Images, graphics, shapes, patterns
  • Minimal text as visual accent

Philosophy Structure:

  1. Name the movement (1-2 words): "Brutalist Joy" / "Chromatic Silence"
  2. Articulate the philosophy (4-6 paragraphs):
  • Space and form
  • Color and material
  • Scale and rhythm
  • Composition and balance
  • Visual hierarchy

Guidelines:

  • Avoid redundancy
  • Emphasize craftsmanship repeatedly
  • Leave creative space for interpretation

Step 2: Canvas Creation [HIGH freedom]

With the philosophy established, express it visually.

Principles:

  • Create museum or magazine quality work
  • Use repeating patterns and perfect shapes
  • Treat abstract design as systematic observation
  • Add sparse, clinical typography
  • Use limited, intentional color palette
  • Ensure nothing overlaps or falls off the canvas

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

design-canvas is a skill published in the GitHub repository kensaurus/cursor-kenji (9 stars, last pushed 10d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 64 tokens to every session and 1,315 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
