Codex Goal Status

Run:

Present the status output to the user verbatim — the script already prints actionable next-step lines for any failures it detects. When a specific failure shows up, reinforce the remediation rather than restating the diagnostic:

Codex not installed → npm install -g @openai/codex.
Codex not authenticated → codex login.
Codex version below the goal-mode minimum → npm install -g @openai/codex@latest.
goals feature flag heuristic returned false → the flag lives in ~/.codex/config.toml (global) or <cwd>/.codex/config.toml (project-local override). Suggest /codex-goal:status --enable-goals to create the project-local file with [features] goals = true (the wrapper refuses to overwrite an existing file, so this is safe). The exact key Codex uses to gate /goal is not a stable public contract, so the detection is best-effort. If /codex-goal:run already prints a Goal … footer (e.g. Goal usage: <N> seconds. or Goal complete; time used: <N> seconds.) for this user, the heuristic is a false negative — goal mode is in fact active and the user can ignore the warning.
