preview

preview is a skill for Claude Code from kmajerowicz/get-shit-right. It costs 62 tokens per session (516 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A product-preview workflow creates a small, bounded demonstration of a proposed feature, screen, interaction, or technical idea. It uses the existing product and styles where possible and records what was shown and observed.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to demonstrate a user flow, inspect a representative screen, test an interaction, or run a small technical experiment before building the complete feature.
Why use it?
It provides evidence before full implementation when the team is unsure how a feature should look or work. It avoids spending time on previews for routine changes or requests that only need planning or copy edits.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00062 $0.00516
Opus 5.5 $0.00025 $0.00206
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00103
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00052

Security

Grade A, and why

preview scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Product preview inside the current task

  1. Read ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/docs/patterns/product-preview.md and the current feature/scope, actual affected product and user constraints. A focused feature is sufficient without PRD/STATE. Reuse current findings/tools; do not repeat intake.
  2. Name the question or explicit demonstration request. Choose the smallest useful flow, representative screen, interaction or synthetic technical experiment. No mode questionnaire or regex classifier; no requirement to generate every form. Plan-only stays planning, diagram-only produces no code. A clear correction skips preview. --sketch remains a separate engineering artifact.
  3. Use available installed relevant guidance/tools. Reuse existing styles/components; standalone HTML is suitable for a new-project screen without dependencies. Inspect actual artifacts and their opening path; use a text flow when Mermaid is unavailable. Observe claimed interactions visually when browser tooling exists. Without it label the missing observation and provide the actual local artifact/opening instructions.
  4. Save the bounded record with ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/templates/preview-record-md.md. State functioning vs simulated behavior and uncovered storage/payment/services. Do not present generated UI as verified backend behavior or a finished application.
  5. Present what the user can judge, the meaningful limit and the result/open choice. Honor show-and-wait; silence is not variant selection. Explicit feedback updates authoritative affected requirements/decisions with source/date/history. Keep one decision owner and valid deferrals; a successful test does not confirm a D-pin.
  6. Before further authorized build, reconcile current requirements/decisions/artifacts and record reuse/adapt/discard with a reason and mocks to replace. Continue in scope without renewed start approval; later review-only stops product edits. Save the ordinary stage handoff with at most six initial refs, current variant and cadence; Next step stays scope/build as applicable, never a new preview enum. No automatic session reset, publication, real payment, production write or installation.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

preview is a skill published in the GitHub repository kmajerowicz/get-shit-right (6 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 62 tokens to every session and 516 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-20.
