Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions AGENTS.md.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is ./build/install/sbk/bin/sbk -class <name> -writers 1 -size 1024 -seconds 30.

Install

Getting it into your agent

It runs from inside its repository, so the clone comes first — what it calls does not travel with the file alone.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.01483
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00593
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00297
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00148

Measured today against content hash dfb99e59b8e1, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

sbk-build-verify scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

SBK Build and Verify Skill

Helps AI agents build and verify changes in the SBK repository with the correct JDK and workflow.

When to use this skill

Invoke this skill when:

  • Making any change to SBK code (drivers, core modules, documentation)
  • Need to verify that a change doesn't break the build
  • Running the standard SBK verification sequence
  • Troubleshooting build failures

Before changing any writer, reader, driver operation, callback, timestamp, queue, recorder, measurement aggregation, or forwarding code, read docs/HOT_PATHS.md. Its explicit human-approval gate applies before adding per-operation, per-measurement, or per-batch work; running this verification skill does not grant that approval.

What this skill provides

Context

  • SBK's JDK 25 requirement and SBK_JAVA_HOME environment variable
  • The correct build and verification sequence for SBK
  • Common build failure modes and their fixes
  • Pathing JAR staleness issue and resolution
  • Gradle wrapper usage and project structure

Guidance

  • Step-by-step verification workflow
  • How to handle JDK version mismatches
  • When to clean rebuild vs incremental build
  • How to fix the pathing JAR staleness issue
  • How to interpret build errors

Required capabilities

This skill does not grant permissions. The agent still follows AGENTS.md and its host tool's approval model. Normal verification needs permission to run ./gradlew and local SBK launchers and to write generated files under module build/ directories.

Build and verify workflow

Standard verification sequence

For any change, run this sequence in order:

# 1. Module-level check (fastest for driver changes)
./gradlew :drivers:<name>:check

# 2. Full project check
./gradlew check

# 3. Build distribution
./gradlew installDist

# 4. Smoke test (for driver changes)
./build/install/sbk/bin/sbk -class <name> -writers 1 -size 1024 -seconds 30

When to clean rebuild

Run a clean rebuild when:

  • Dependency versions changed (especially driver vendor SDKs)
  • Seeing NoClassDefFoundError for classes that clearly exist in build/install/sbk/lib/
  • Pathing JAR appears stale (manifest doesn't include new dependencies)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

sbk-build-verify is a skill published in the GitHub repository kmgowda/SBK (36 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,483 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-07.
