jgrants-subsidy-search

jgrants-subsidy-search is a skill for Claude Code from Kokai-Data/japan-business-data. It costs 89 tokens per session (421 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A search tool for J-Grants, Japan’s public registry of government subsidies. It finds subsidies by industry, topic, purpose, or Japanese prefecture.

In plain words
What is it for?
Finding subsidy titles, coverage areas, application deadlines, maximum amounts, sponsoring institutions, and source links.
Why use it?
It reduces the time spent scanning subsidy listings and helps collect initial candidates. The results are leads, not a final decision about eligibility.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00089 $0.00421
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.00211
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00084
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00042

Measured 12d ago against content hash 91d2c5a74ea9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-12, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

jgrants-subsidy-search scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

When to use

Use this skill when:

  • The user asks about subsidies relevant to an industry, theme, or use purpose.
  • You need to identify candidate subsidies before drilling into details.

How to invoke

Call the kokai MCP server's search_subsidies tool:

{
  "name": "search_subsidies",
  "arguments": {
    "keyword": "<industry / theme / use purpose, 2+ chars>",
    "industry": "<optional industry code>",
    "use_purpose": "<optional use purpose>",
    "target_area_search": "<optional prefecture>"
  }
}

Output format

For each subsidy, present:

  • J-Grants subsidy ID
  • Title
  • Target area (prefecture / national)
  • Deadline range (acceptance_start / acceptance_end)
  • Max amount (subsidy_max_limit)
  • Institution name (公募元)
  • Source URL (cite_required)

Constraints

  • The target_area_search field returns regional subsidies; clarify with the user whether they want national-only, prefecture-specific, or all.
  • Subsidies returned are signal / 確認材料 — fit / 適格性 must be verified separately (e.g. via the kokai MCP server's kokai_subsidy_fit_jp prompt).

Boundary

  • Output is signal / 確認材料 / context — NOT eligibility judgment.
  • Final 申請可否 / 適格性 verification requires a certified Japanese 士業 (行政書士 / 中小企業診断士).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
