scientific-writing: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/pdf/SKILL.md

pdf is a skill for Claude Code from koljaschoepe/scientific-writing. It costs 28 tokens per session (878 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A document-building helper that turns Markdown, a plain-text writing format, into a PDF or Word file. It also explains layout errors in simple language and can create a draft or an exposé, a short plan for a research project.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build the complete paper, a draft, an exposé, or a Word document, or to check whether the required tools are installed.
Why use it?
It removes the need to understand the underlying document-building tools or read their raw error logs. It can also show when required tools such as Pandoc or LaTeX are missing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00028 $0.00878
Opus 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00351
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00176
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00088

Measured 26d ago against content hash baa999c12c28, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

pdf scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 26d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

/pdf: Aus Markdown wird das PDF

Wichtig: Nie „kompilieren“ sagen, sondern „PDF bauen“. Nie rohe LaTeX-Logs zeigen. Format nur über .arbeit/einstellungen.md (Abschnitte Layout, Zitieren) ändern, nie in .claude/kit/latex/ (Kit) oder .lokal/ (generiert). Endausgabe laut AGENTS.md.

Argument: $ARGUMENTS

Modus Befehl Ergebnis
leer node .claude/kit/werkzeuge/pdf.mjs --json Arbeit.pdf, fehlende Kapitel gemeldet
entwurf pdf.mjs entwurf --json Wasserzeichen, Platzhalter für fehlende Kapitel
expose pdf.mjs expose --json Expose.pdf

1. Werkzeuge prüfen (still)

node .claude/kit/werkzeuge/pdf.mjs check --json. fehlend leer: weiter. Für docx genügt Pandoc. Fehlt pandoc oder latex: pdf/installieren.md lesen und befolgen.

2. Bauen

Befehl laut Tabelle. Erstes Mal kann Minuten dauern: ankündigen. Ergebnis-JSON: ok, pdf (Pfad), seiten, fehler[] (erklaerung, quelle, quelleZeile, meldung), warnungen[], fehlende_kapitel[], fehlende_werkzeuge[].

3. Fehler selbst reparieren

4. Abschluss

Endausgabe laut AGENTS.md: „PDF fertig: Arbeit.pdf, 48 Seiten.“ Höchstens drei Warnungen als Stichpunkte. Seiten außerhalb von arbeit.seiten (mehr als 10 %): ausdrücklich sagen. node .claude/kit/werkzeuge/zustand.mjs verlauf "PDF gebaut (<modus>, <seiten> Seiten)"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
