create-post

create-post is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from kostja94/openblog. It costs 37 tokens per session (341 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A writing workflow for adding a user-provided article to an OpenBlog Markdown blog. It checks the article’s metadata, filename, links, and structure.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to turn an outline, draft, or brief into a correctly formatted blog post, validate it, and save it in the project’s blog content folder.
Why use it?
It prevents malformed posts, mismatched slugs, and missing required information from entering the blog. It also makes clear that it does not write a full article without user content or a brief.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00037 $0.00341
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00170
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00068
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00034

Measured 3d ago against content hash 0e740b3ae6c6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

create-post scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Create Post

Guardrail: The user provides the article body, outline, or brief. This skill ensures valid frontmatter, filename/slug alignment, and Markdown structure — it is not an autonomous article factory.

For content strategy, keyword targeting, GEO, or post optimization → use marketing-skills.

Steps

  1. Read AGENTS.md and inspect existing posts in content/blog/.
  2. Confirm the user supplied content or a clear brief; do not invent long-form copy without input.
  3. Choose a unique kebab-case slug matching the filename.
  4. Write frontmatter that passes postFrontmatterSchema (description 80–320 chars).
  5. Write Markdown body with:
    • One # title (optional; stripped if duplicate of frontmatter title)
    • ## sections for structure
    • Internal links to other posts using /blog/{slug} paths
  6. Run npm run validate:posts in templates/next.

Create the file at templates/next/content/blog/{slug}.md.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
