What is markdown-scope?

A workflow for putting Markdown files—plain-text documents that use simple formatting marks—into a live browser preview before editing them.

Use it before creating or editing Markdown documents that other people will read. It applies the preview scope once per file and then watches for changes.

It lets developers see how plans, design documents, READMEs, tables, and diagrams will render while they work.

Rule

Before the first write to a markdown file that should be previewed, call:

scope_markdown({ path: "<path to .md>" })

on the markdown-mcp MCP server (tool may appear as markdown-mcp__scope_markdown depending on host naming).

Details

Prefer an absolute path; workspace-relative is OK.
The file does not need to exist yet.
Call once per path — not on every edit.
Then create/edit the file normally. The hub watches disk and updates the UI.
Skip for tiny throwaway notes the user will not read rendered.
