ddd-architect

ddd-architect is a skill for Claude Code from kumaran-is/claude-code-onboarding. It costs 73 tokens per session (1,231 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Domain-Driven Design architecture helper for modelling complex software around the business it serves. Domain-Driven Design is an approach that defines business boundaries, shared terms, and system components before choosing implementation details.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to analyse bounded contexts, aggregates, context maps, subdomains, modular monoliths, or microservice decompositions. It can produce architecture guidance from business descriptions, requirements, and a chosen technology stack.
Why use it?
Large systems become difficult to change when business areas and responsibilities are mixed together. This helps clarify boundaries and relationships before proposing aggregates, modules, or microservices.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00073 $0.01231
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.00616
Sonnet 5 $0.00015 $0.00246
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00123

Security

Grade A, and why

ddd-architect scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 133 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Iron Law: Never design domain boundaries without analyzing existing bounded contexts first; always map ubiquitous language before proposing aggregates.

DDD Architect Skill

Generate comprehensive Domain-Driven Design architecture documentation following industry standards. Tech-stack agnostic — works with any language, framework, or cloud platform.

How This Skill Works

This skill uses progressive disclosure. Read the reference files as needed:

Phase Reference File When to Load
Strategic Design reference/strategic-design.md Always — start here
Tactical Design reference/tactical-design.md After strategic phase
Technical Architecture reference/technical-architecture.md After tactical phase
Implementation reference/implementation-guidelines.md After architecture phase
Output Templates assets/templates/ When generating documents

Execution Protocol

Step 0: Gather Context

Before starting, confirm you have:

  1. Domain description — what does the business do?
  2. Requirements — user stories, PRDs, or feature lists (files or description)
  3. Tech stack — languages, frameworks, databases, cloud platform
  4. Architecture style — microservices, modular monolith, or undecided
  5. Team structure — number of teams, ownership boundaries (if known)
  6. Existing system — greenfield or brownfield? Migration constraints?

If any are missing, ask before proceeding. Do NOT assume.

Step 1: Strategic Design

Read reference/strategic-design.md, then:

  1. Identify core, supporting, and generic subdomains
  2. Classify by strategic value and complexity
  3. Discover bounded contexts using linguistic analysis
  4. Define ubiquitous language per context
  5. Create context map with relationship patterns
  6. Map team ownership (Conway's Law alignment)

Output: docs/ddd/01-strategic-design.md

Step 2: Tactical Design

Read reference/tactical-design.md, then:

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

ddd-architect is a skill published in the GitHub repository kumaran-is/claude-code-onboarding (35 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 73 tokens to every session and 1,231 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
