kumiho-personalize

kumiho-personalize is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from KumihoIO/kumiho-plugins. It costs 58 tokens per session (569 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A preference manager for Kumiho, a shared memory system for coding assistants. It shows or updates identity settings such as names, language, tone, verbosity, timezone, and memory behaviour.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps view or change remembered user and assistant preferences, while leaving backend sign-in and ordinary saved facts to other workflows.
Why use it?
The assistant may need consistent preferences across different Kumiho clients. This keeps those settings in the shared identity rather than changing only one conversation.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00058 $0.00569
Opus 5 $0.00029 $0.00284
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00114
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00057

Security

Grade A, and why

kumiho-personalize scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Kumiho Personalize (Codex)

Update the existing identity by merging requested fields into a new revision. This identity is shared by Kumiho clients, including Claude; it is not a Codex-only settings file. Mention that scope before a persistent update. If the user explicitly wants a Codex-only preference, do not change this shared item: honor it in this conversation and explain the shared scope.

  1. Fetch kumiho_get_revision_by_tag with item_kref="kref://CognitiveMemory/agent.instruction", tag="published". Only on not-found, retry kref://CognitiveMemory/personal/agent.instruction. Keep the item kref that resolved for every subsequent write. Auth/connection errors are not not-found; report them without creating another identity.
  2. Read the revision's metadata. If both items are not-found, follow the existing first-identity flow, incorporating any explicitly requested preference, rather than asking the user to restart. If only displaying preferences, report absence without creating anything.
  3. If a change was supplied, use it without another questionnaire. Otherwise show current values briefly and ask only what to change. Supported fields: agent_name, user_name, user_languages, communication_tone, verbosity, user_role, user_expertise_level, primary_tools, artifact_dir, timezone, interaction_rules, memory_behaviour. Preserve all other metadata, including fields not listed here. Never persist credentials or infer unrequested preferences from old transcripts.
  4. If values actually changed, call kumiho_create_revision with the resolved item_kref and merged metadata (string values, matching the tool schema). Use the returned revision.kref as revision_kref in kumiho_tag_revision(tag="published"). Do not guess revision numbers, untag the previous revision, or delete history. If publication fails, report the unpublished revision; do not claim success or blindly create another revision on retry.
  5. Read back the published revision and confirm only the changed fields. Apply the preferences now; later sessions load the published identity. A show-only request or no-op change performs no write.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
