memory-capture

memory-capture is a skill for Claude Code from KumihoIO/kumiho-plugins. It costs 49 tokens per session (436 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for saving one user-provided fact, preference, or decision into Kumiho, a memory system for coding assistants. It checks related memories and stores the new item with an appropriate type and scope.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps remember a specific preference, decision, or fact when the user directly asks the assistant to save it.
Why use it?
Important information can be lost between conversations, while bulk history imports may save too much. This records one explicitly chosen item and avoids storing credentials.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00049 $0.00436
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.00218
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00087
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00044

Security

Grade A, and why

memory-capture scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Memory Capture (Codex)

  1. Use the supplied text; ask for it only when absent. Never repeat or store credentials, even if asked. Honor off-record requests. For sensitive personal or third-party information, confirm the intended storage scope unless already explicitly authorized.
  2. Reuse this turn's engage results, or make one targeted kumiho_memory_engage(query=<text>, limit=3, recall_mode="summarized"). Keep only relevant source krefs; do not retrieve a whole space.
  3. Call kumiho_memory_reflect once with:
    • response: a brief description of the requested manual capture.
    • captures: an array containing one object (captures: [{...}]) with type (fact, preference, or decision), a short dated title, faithful content, tags: ["manual-capture"], and space_hint.
    • source_krefs: the relevant krefs from step 2. Copy a relevant space's exact casing; otherwise use facts, preferences, or decisions. Distinguish the capture date from the event date: supply event_date only when known. Omit session_id; Codex supplies its thread identity. Never borrow a Claude SessionStart id or invent one.
  4. Check the result for errors and a stored kref, not merely a successful tool envelope. Confirm what was saved and include the returned kref. Report only edge counts the result actually provides. Do not reflect the same content again merely to record that this command ran.

If memory is unavailable, report that nothing was saved and use $kumiho-onboard; do not switch the backend or handle tokens yourself.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

memory-capture is a skill published in the GitHub repository KumihoIO/kumiho-plugins (2 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 49 tokens to every session and 436 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-05.
