Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00073 | $0.01476 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00036 | $0.00738 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00015 | $0.00295 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00007 | $0.00148 |
Grade A, and why
kx-datepicker scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 64 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

This skill uses progressive disclosure: the hazards, workflow, and output checklist are here; the bulky JSON schema, picker-mode/field tables, ViewState declarations, and worked examples live in reference/. Read only the reference file relevant to your current step.
Reference Files
| File | Read it when you need… |
|---|---|
| reference/component-schema.md | The raw component JSON — full Basics schema, the picker-mode table, the Basics field reference, the ViewState declarations for each mode, and the complete DatePicker component object. |
| reference/examples.md | Copy-ready worked patterns — simple picker, full linked picker→datagrid, exact-vs-range query filters, LAD default, timespan input, and DefaultDate offset expressions. |
⚠️ Hazards — Read First
SelectedDatemust be a ViewState binding —{ "_dashboardsType": "viewstate", "value": "<vsName>" }. The type of that ViewState controls which picker is rendered (date, datetime, timestamp, timespan, month). A bare string will not work.- Declare the ViewState with the correct
_type— the picker mode is inferred from it. Use"date","datetime","timestamp","timespan", or"month". - Always set a non-null ViewState
_default. The ViewState_defaultis the reliable way to set an initial date — it works regardless of whether aDatasource is bound and fires before any query executes. Never use"_default": "": anullViewState does not count as a "change" on thenull→ first-value transition, so dependent queries that use it as a parameter will not execute until the user picks a second date. Set a known-good date string (e.g."2020-01-02"), or the string"LAD"when a data source is bound, so the query has a value to run with on initial load. DefaultDate(LAD/FADexpressions) only activates whenDatais bound. These expressions are resolved against the available dates returned by the data source. Without aDatabinding,DefaultDatehas no effect — set the initial value via the ViewState_defaultinstead.Datasource must return kdb+ temporal types — useselect distinct Date from <table>(notselect Date) to avoid duplicate entries in the picker calendar. The source should return a single column ofdate, datetime, timestamp, month, ortimespanvalues.- Data source key names are whitespace-sensitive —
"AvailableDates"and"AvailableDates "are different keys. TheDatabinding on the component must exactly match the key declared in thedatablock, including any trailing spaces. Always verify both sides match. definitionIdis"15"— not"33"(TextInput) or"17"(Text).widthandlabelWidthare in pixels — both are required for correct rendering; omitting them leaves the layout unsized.- QueryParam
valueuses<%vsName%>syntax — the ViewState reference in_queryParamsmust be written as"<%vsName%>"(plain angle brackets). Do not HTML-encode the brackets.
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

kx-datepicker is a skill published in the GitHub repository KxSystems/kx-skills (16 stars, last pushed 7d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 73 tokens to every session and 1,476 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
