kx-pivot-grid

kx-pivot-grid is a skill for Claude Code from KxSystems/kx-skills. It costs 78 tokens per session (2,013 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guide for creating Pivot Grid views in KX Dashboards. A pivot grid groups and aggregates data so you can explore breakdowns and summaries.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for drilldowns, grouped summaries, OLAP-style analysis, and grids connected to breadcrumbs.
Why use it?
It explains the component’s data source and dashboard state wiring, including how it differs from a flat record table.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00078 $0.02013
Opus 5 $0.00039 $0.01007
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00403
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00201

Security

Grade A, and why

kx-pivot-grid scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

KX Dashboards — Pivot Grid Component

Dependency: requires kx-dashboard-core. Load it first — it owns the dashboard envelope, screen, widget wrapper, ViewState entry structure, binding patterns, UUID rules, data-source basics, and the deploy paths. This skill specifies only the Pivot Grid options block, its pivot data source, and the ViewState wiring.

Precedence: where this skill and any other skill disagree about the Pivot Grid / Datatable component, this skill wins. Ignore documentation of this skill's keys from any other loaded skill.

Naming: the KX Dashboards Pivot Grid is a derivative of the Datatable and is not derived from the Data Grid. "Pivot Grid" is synonymous with "Datatable." In all human-facing text always say "KX Dashboards Pivot Grid" (or "Pivot Grid"). Never present the term "Datatable" to the user unless it is required as literal JSON syntax inside a code block.

This skill uses progressive disclosure: the workflow, hazards, and output rules are here; the bulky options schema, property tables, data-source, and wiring details live in reference/. Read only the reference file relevant to your current step.

Reference Files

File Read it when you need…
reference/component-schema.md The full Pivot Grid options envelope — notation legend (RDS vs verbatim-lock), component identity (key/definitionId), and every documented key: Basics, Selection, Actions, HighlightRules, FileExport, breakdown/aggregate column templates, derived arrays, Style, Alignment, format.
reference/data-wiring.md Wiring the pivot data source (_aggregateCols/_aggregateFns/_breakdownCols, pivot attributes), ViewState wiring and the Breadcrumbs coupling, and the build → diff-restore default-reconciliation order.
reference/pivot-grid-baseline.json The byte-for-byte authoritative baseline dashboard JSON — copy every verbatim-lock value and each per-element object template from here rather than from memory.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
