ha-blueprints

ha-blueprints is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from L3DigitalNet/Claude-Code-Plugins. It costs 35 tokens per session (587 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Reusable YAML templates for Home Assistant automations, with settings that users can change for each use.

In plain words
What is it for?
Creating motion-activated lights and other Home Assistant automations that people can configure and reuse.
Why use it?
They avoid rewriting the same automation and make it easier to share one design with different sensors, lights, or timings.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00035 $0.00587
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00293
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00117
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00059

Measured 4d ago against content hash 23231f143302, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ha-blueprints scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Home Assistant YAML Blueprints

Blueprints are reusable automation templates with configurable inputs — users can create multiple automations from the same blueprint with different settings.

YAML Style Rules

  • 2-space indentation (never tabs)
  • Lowercase booleans: true / false

Blueprint Template

blueprint:
  name: 'Motion-Activated Light'
description: 'Turn on light when motion detected, turn off after delay'
  domain: automation
  input:
    motion_entity:
      name: 'Motion Sensor'
      selector:
        entity:
          filter:
            domain: binary_sensor
            device_class: motion
    light_target:
      name: 'Light'
      selector:
        target:
          entity:
            filter:
              domain: light
    no_motion_wait:
name: 'Wait time after motion stops'
      default: 120
      selector:
        number:
          min: 0
          max: 3600
          unit_of_measurement: seconds

trigger:
  - trigger: state
    entity_id: !input motion_entity
    to: 'on'

action:
  - action: light.turn_on
    target: !input light_target
  - wait_for_trigger:
      - trigger: state
        entity_id: !input motion_entity
        to: 'off'
  - delay:
      seconds: !input no_motion_wait
  - action: light.turn_off
    target: !input light_target

mode: restart

Key Blueprint Concepts

  • !input — References a user-provided input value anywhere in the blueprint body
  • selector — Controls what UI picker appears in HA's frontend for each input
  • domain: automation — Blueprints can also target script domain
  • default — Makes an input optional (uses default if not set)

Common Selectors

# Entity picker
selector:
  entity:
    filter:
      domain: light

# Area picker
selector:
  area: {}

# Number slider
selector:
  number:
    min: 0
    max: 100
    unit_of_measurement: "%"

# Boolean toggle
selector:
  boolean: {}

# Time picker
selector:
  time: {}

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
