plan-day

plan-day is a skill for Claude Code from LandonSchropp/agent-toolkit. It costs 48 tokens per session (427 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A daily planning helper for a personal or work note. It uses a terminal program to record the day's tasks, reflections and other planning information in that note.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare a morning or daily note, add tasks, answer journaling prompts and update the note with follow-up work.
Why use it?
It puts daily plans and tasks in one place instead of leaving them scattered across messages or separate lists.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00048 $0.00427
Opus 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00171
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00085
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00043

Security

Grade A, and why

plan-day scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Plan Day

REQUIRED: Invoke the ls-notes:daily-note skill NOW for vault context and file path conventions.

The planning happens in plan-day, a terminal app on the user's PATH that writes the results into the daily notes itself.

Planning

REQUIRED: Invoke the ls-interactivity:interactive-command skill with plan-day > /tmp/plan-day-<date>.md 2> /tmp/plan-day-<date>.log as the command, where <date> is today's ISO date, and plan-day as the tab name. With its output redirected, plan-day draws on the terminal and prints only a summary to the file.

A non-zero exit means plan-day failed, and its error is in the log. When the tab closes, read the summary.

Never edit a daily note while the plan-day tab is open. plan-day refuses to write any note that changed after it read it, so an edit made mid-session throws away everything the user planned in that note. This covers every daily note, not just today's, and every edit, even a one-character typo fix the user asked for. Tell the user each edit is queued, hold it until the tab closes, then apply it along with the comments.

Comments

Each comment is an instruction about its task. Carry out every one, editing the notes directly; ask the user only when a comment is ambiguous or needs a decision from them.

More Tasks

Once every comment is carried out, ask the user whether there are any other tasks they'd like to add to today's daily note, and add them.

Once the user has no more tasks to add, REQUIRED: use the ls-agent:close-workspace skill to close this workspace.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

plan-day is a skill published in the GitHub repository LandonSchropp/agent-toolkit (3 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 48 tokens to every session and 427 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-02.
