pinkbee-mcp: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/mcp-development/SKILL.md

mcp-development is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from LaurensdeGraaff/pinkbee-mcp. It costs 47 tokens per session (367 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository-specific workflow for developing an MCP server, a program that lets AI assistants call tools and access data. It covers Pinkbee API integration, validation, tests, documentation, and deployment.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding or changing MCP tools, API endpoints, resources, prompts, transports, validation, tests, or deployment in the Pinkbee server.
Why use it?
It prevents guessed API behavior, unsafe live changes, and mismatches between mock and live data. It also gives a repeatable way to verify changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.00367
Opus 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00147
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00073
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00037

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-development scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Pinkbee MCP Development

Workflow

  1. Inspect related source, tests, and documentation before editing.
  2. For new Pinkbee endpoints, inspect supplied HAR/browser evidence when available; document the endpoint and payload instead of guessing.
  3. Implement matching data-source methods in src/pinkbee_mcp/live.py and src/pinkbee_mcp/mock.py, then expose a narrowly scoped tool in server.py.
  4. Validate all model-provided inputs, return structured JSON where appropriate, and translate failures using the project's ToolError pattern.
  5. Gate every write with ENABLE_WRITE_TO_PINKBEE in both the MCP tool and live client. Never make live writes unless explicitly requested. Do not retry an ambiguous write. For explicitly requested live testing, record the old value, use a date at least two months ahead, restore the change, and verify restoration.
  6. Update README and relevant files in docs/ when behavior or configuration changes.
  7. Run targeted tests, the full test suite, lint, and git diff --check when available. Report checks that the environment cannot run.

Rules

  • Keep tool descriptions clear and specific; agents use them to decide when to call.
  • Keep mock and live data-source methods aligned.
  • Reuse existing patterns for timeouts, logging, configuration, and errors.
  • Keep writes opt-in, narrowly scoped, and idempotent where possible.
  • Keep changes simple, manageable, and documented.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
