kairos-lite

kairos-lite is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from LearnPrompt/cc-harness-skills. It costs 37 tokens per session (298 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A lightweight setup for scheduled, proactive work by an agent. It runs checks at planned times, produces short updates, and stops or needs renewal after an expiry period.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for scheduled repository checks, unattended follow-ups, expiring proactive jobs, and brief reports after background work.
Why use it?
It supports background follow-up without turning the agent into a permanently running process with no end point.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00037 $0.00298
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00149
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00030

Security

Grade A, and why

kairos-lite scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/job_spec.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Kairos Lite

Use this skill when you want proactive behavior, but not a full always-on autonomous platform.

Use It For

  • scheduled repo patrols
  • unattended follow-up checks
  • short user-facing briefs after background work
  • proactive jobs with expiry

Avoid It For

  • unrestricted permanent daemons
  • hidden background mutation without explicit user opt-in
  • complex host-specific notification plumbing as an MVP

Quick Start

Create a portable proactive job spec:

python3 {baseDir}/scripts/job_spec.py \
  --name "daily-repo-check" \
--prompt "Summarize risky changes in the repo" \
  --schedule "0 9 * * 1-5"

Then use the prompt in references/prompt-template.md.

Minimum Building Blocks

  • sleep or wait
  • a schedule or automation trigger
  • a brief output channel
  • expiry or renewal

What ships with it

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
