swarm-coordinator

swarm-coordinator is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from LearnPrompt/cc-harness-skills. It costs 36 tokens per session (275 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for coordinating several coding agents on one larger task. It divides the work into separate jobs such as research, implementation, synthesis, and verification.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for large codebase investigations, bugs spanning multiple files, parallel reviews, and research that needs a combined conclusion.
Why use it?
It prevents one agent from handling a broad task as an unfocused sequence and makes ownership and review clearer.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00036 $0.00275
Opus 5 $0.00018 $0.00138
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00028

Security

Grade A, and why

swarm-coordinator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/task_board.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Swarm Coordinator

Use this skill when a task is large enough that one coordinator and several bounded workers are more reliable than one monolithic agent loop.

Use It For

  • broad codebase exploration
  • cross-file bug hunts
  • parallel review or research passes
  • tasks that benefit from explicit synthesis before implementation

Avoid It For

  • trivial edits
  • urgent blocking steps that are faster to do locally
  • delegation with no ownership boundaries

Quick Start

Generate a task-board skeleton:

python3 {baseDir}/scripts/task_board.py --goal "Investigate flaky CI failure" --worker research --worker implementation --worker verification

Then use the coordinator prompt in references/prompt-template.md.

Core Rule

The coordinator should own planning, routing, and synthesis. Workers should own bounded execution.

Supporting Files

Files

What ships with it

4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

swarm-coordinator is a skill published in the GitHub repository LearnPrompt/cc-harness-skills (233 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 36 tokens to every session and 275 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
