Core Loop
OBSERVE → ABSTRACT → WRITE → TEST → REFINE → PUBLISH
1. OBSERVE
After completing any task, ask:
- Did I repeat a pattern I've done before?
- Could this be a reusable Skill?
- What inputs/outputs does this pattern have?
2. ABSTRACT
Extract the reusable core:
- Strip task-specific details
- Define generic inputs
- Define expected outputs
- Identify failure modes
3. WRITE
Create a SKILL.md with YAML frontmatter: name, version, description, author, tags, inputs, outputs, tested, quality_score
4. TEST
Run the skill against 3 test cases:
- Happy path (normal input)
- Edge case (unusual but valid input)
- Error case (invalid input)
Quality score = passed tests / 3
5. REFINE
If quality_score < 0.8: rewrite and re-test.
6. PUBLISH
If quality_score >= 0.8: simulate PR to agentskills.io
