Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00097 | $0.02693 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00039 | $0.01077 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00019 | $0.00539 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00269 |
Grade A, and why
shipyard-tdd scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
This is a copy
83% identical to test-driven-development — 172 lines differ, which has more behind it and is treated as the original. This page carries a canonical link to it rather than competing with it.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 409 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Test-Driven Development (TDD)
When This Skill Activates
- Any feature or bugfix implementation before writing production code
- Plan tasks with
tdd="true"marker - Files matching:
*.test.*,*.spec.*,__tests__/,*_test.go
Natural Language Triggers
- "test first", "write tests", "TDD", "red green refactor", "write a failing test"
Overview
Write the test first. Watch it fail. Write minimal code to pass.
Core principle: If you didn't watch the test fail, you don't know if it tests the right thing.
Violating the letter of the rules is violating the spirit of the rules.
When to Use
Always:
- New features
- Bug fixes
- Refactoring
- Behavior changes
Exceptions (ask your human partner):
- Throwaway prototypes
- Generated code
- Configuration files
Thinking "skip TDD just this once"? Stop. That's rationalization.
The Iron Law
NO PRODUCTION CODE WITHOUT A FAILING TEST FIRST
Write code before the test? Delete it. Start over.
No exceptions:
- Don't keep it as "reference"
- Don't "adapt" it while writing tests
- Don't look at it
- Delete means delete
Implement fresh from tests. Period.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

shipyard-tdd is a skill published in the GitHub repository lgbarn/shipyard (65 stars, last pushed 6d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 97 tokens to every session and 2,693 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. It is 83% identical to test-driven-development, differing in 172 lines, and is treated as a copy.

plan
Analyzes architecture, selects patterns, assesses testability, then decomposes work into ordered TDD tasks with exact verification commands and explicit acceptance mapping. Works from an approved spec (zuvo:brainstorm output) or directly from a user-provided description.
x-qdev
A compact development workflow for a small, clearly defined code change. It keeps the requirement, initially failing tests, implementation, and real verification results in one task document, following TDD, or test-driven development.
test-audit
Audit test suites for T1-T4 violations using AST analysis, mock detection, and multi-stage synthesis. Invoke when user asks to audit tests, check test quality, find mock violations, review test effectiveness, or inspect test suites for over-mocking. Triggers automatic rewrites when quality gates fail.
Eval-Driven Skill Design
A review guide for new coding-agent skills that checks whether each skill has both examples it should catch and examples it should ignore, plus evaluation setup.
