preset-skill-op-availability-save-gate

preset-skill-op-availability-save-gate is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Lingtai-AI/lingtai. It costs 44 tokens per session (526 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A preset-editor save check that validates the preset's structure locally before saving. It does not contact the provider or model; live availability checks belong to `/doctor` and runtime execution.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when editing presets and you want structural validation before saving. Use `/doctor` or a real run when you need to check whether a provider and model are actually available.
Why use it?
It avoids blocking saves because of temporary network or provider problems. Saving a valid configuration does not depend on a live service response.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: mentions Codex.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00044 $0.00526
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00263
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00105
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00053

Security

Grade A, and why

preset-skill-op-availability-save-gate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Availability / save gate

Evidence: tui/internal/tui/preset_editor.go's commit().

Save is structural-only

commit() runs the preset's structural Validate() and, if it passes, saves immediately. There is no live HTTP call, no pending/checking state, and no per-tuple credential fingerprinting gate on Save — for any provider, including Codex, Codex-pool, and API-key providers like DeepSeek. See reference/operations/saved-presets/SKILL.md for what Validate() checks.

History

An earlier revision of this editor ran a real live provider/model call on every Save and hard-blocked the save on a non-2xx response (a "real-availability gate"). That gate false-positived broadly — every provider, including working Codex and API-key configurations, could be rejected by transient network/provider conditions unrelated to whether the configuration was actually usable — and was removed (2026-07-23, reported by Jason). It has not been replaced by another probe, whitelist, or retry loop.

Where live availability diagnosis actually lives

/doctor (tui/internal/tui/doctor.go's probeLLM) and real runtime execution remain the places that diagnose whether a provider/model is actually reachable. Save does not duplicate that check.

Operations

For structural Validate() and the Load/Save/Delete file contract, see reference/operations/saved-presets/SKILL.md. For what happens after a successful save — activation and /refresh — see reference/operations/activation-session-refresh/SKILL.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
