routiform-claude-code-setup

routiform-claude-code-setup is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from linhnguyen-gt/Routiform. It costs 97 tokens per session (983 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A setup guide for routing Claude Code requests through a Routiform gateway. A gateway is a service that receives requests and sends them to configured AI providers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a Routiform key, set the Claude Code environment variables, and verify that the gateway responds.
Why use it?
It explains how to configure the required address and authentication token so Claude Code uses Routiform instead of its stored Anthropic login.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00097 $0.00983
Opus 5 $0.00048 $0.00491
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00197
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00098

Security

Grade B, and why

routiform-claude-code-setup scanned grade B with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Connect Claude Code to Routiform

Claude Code talks the Anthropic Messages API. Routiform serves that API at /v1/messages, so Claude Code needs no plugin — only a base URL and a token.

Prerequisites

  • Routiform running and reachable. Default: http://localhost:20128. Confirm with curl -s -o /dev/null -w '%{http_code}\n' http://localhost:20128/v1/models200.
  • At least one provider connection configured at /dashboard/providers. Without one, requests reach the gateway and fail with No credentials for provider: <id>.
  • Claude Code installed: npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code.

Steps

1. Create a gateway API key. This is Routiform's own key, not a provider key. Dashboard → API Manager → create, or:

routiform key create claude-code

Copy the sk-... value. It is shown once.

2. Point Claude Code at Routiform. Both variables are required — the token is what Routiform authenticates, and Claude Code will otherwise try to use a stored Anthropic login.

export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL="http://localhost:20128"
export ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN="sk-your-routiform-key"

Add them to ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc to survive a new shell. To scope it to Claude Code alone, put them in ~/.claude/settings.json instead:

{
  "env": {
    "ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL": "http://localhost:20128",
    "ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN": "sk-your-routiform-key"
  }
}

Leave /v1 off ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL — Claude Code appends /v1/messages itself, which is why the dashboard's own CLI Tools page writes the bare origin. Routiform happens to answer the doubled /v1/v1/messages too, so a base URL ending in /v1 will not break; it is just wrong on paper and will confuse the next person reading your shell profile.

3. Choose what serves the request. Routiform maps the incoming Claude model name onto whatever you configured. To pin a specific one, set ANTHROPIC_MODEL to an id from GET /v1/models, or build a combo at /dashboard/combos and let Routiform pick.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

routiform-claude-code-setup is a skill published in the GitHub repository linhnguyen-gt/Routiform (12 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 97 tokens to every session and 983 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 2 findings (reads agent configuration directories, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
