A monitoring report for how often a brand appears in answers from AI search tools and in regular search. It tracks mentions, share of voice, trends, and the websites cited in AI answers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to track brand mentions in AI search, compare visibility over time, and identify domains that cite the brand.
Why use it?
It shows whether AI-generated answers mention the brand and which sources influence that visibility. It requires Ahrefs data and cannot provide results without the Ahrefs connection.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00088 $0.01534
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.00767
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00307
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00153

Security

Grade C, and why

seo-brand-radar scanned grade C with 2 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Reads agent configuration directoriesmediumAgent snooping

.claude/, .codex/, .gemini/ hold keys, settings and other credentials a mod has no legitimate need for.

- Verify with: cat ~/.claude/mcp.json | grep -i ahrefs

Reads MCP configurationmediumAgent snooping

mcp.json carries server URLs and auth tokens; reading it lets a mod discover and abuse other integrations.

- Verify with: cat ~/.claude/mcp.json | grep -i ahrefs

Brand Radar — AI Search Brand Monitoring

Monitors brand visibility in AI-generated search responses, brand mention trends, share of voice, and which domains cite the brand in AI responses. Powered by Ahrefs Brand Radar — no fallback exists for this data.

Inputs

  • brand: The brand name or domain to monitor (required). Can be a company name (Notion) or a domain (notion.so). Use whatever format the user provides — do NOT normalize unless the API explicitly requires it.

MCP Check

Before proceeding, verify Ahrefs MCP is available:

  1. Use ToolSearch with query +ahrefs
  2. If tools are returned → Ahrefs MCP is available, proceed to Execution
  3. If no tools returned → display the Brand Radar error template below and stop

CRITICAL — No Fallback: Brand Radar is an Ahrefs-exclusive feature. If Ahrefs MCP is not connected, this command cannot provide any data. Do NOT estimate or fabricate brand monitoring data. Do NOT attempt to infer brand visibility from other sources. Stop and show the error.

Execution

Step 1 — Schema Discovery (CRITICAL)

Use ToolSearch with query brand-radar to discover all available Brand Radar tools and their exact parameter schemas.

From the returned tool definitions, inspect and document: a) What parameter name is used for the brand/target input — may be target, brand, query, brandTarget, or another name. Do NOT assume it is target. b) What response fields each tool returns — field names vary and are NOT documented statically in this skill. c) Which Brand Radar tools are available in the connected Ahrefs MCP version.

Record the discovered parameter name as {brand_param} before making any API calls. All subsequent calls in Steps 2–5 use {brand_param}: {brand_input}.

If ToolSearch returns no brand-radar tools: Display error "Brand Radar tools not found in connected Ahrefs MCP. This feature may not be available in your Ahrefs account tier." and stop.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

seo-brand-radar is a skill published in the GitHub repository lionkiii/claude-seo-skills (20 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 88 tokens to every session and 1,534 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it C with 2 findings (reads agent configuration directories, reads mcp configuration). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
