foreshadow

foreshadow is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from LiPu-jpg/Openwrite. It costs 50 tokens per session (239 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A tracker for story clues planted earlier in a novel and their planned resolution. A foreshadowing clue hints at a later event; the tool reports clues that are due, overdue, or still need to be planted.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to list unresolved clues across the book, inspect the current chapter's obligations, and plan precise changes when the author has approved them.
Why use it?
It reduces continuity mistakes by using the project's existing chapter obligations and story relationships instead of a second tracker.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00050 $0.00239
Opus 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00096
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00048
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00024

Security

Grade A, and why

foreshadow scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Language: follow the author's current conversation language for responses and help; preserve the manuscript language. Translate these instructions when presenting them.

查伏笔

接到已有 novel_*。伏笔真源是 OpenWrite DAG 与章节工作简报。

  1. novel_status 看全书待办。
  2. 当前章用 novel_chapter_work:到期 must_resolve、超期 overdue、待埋入 to_plant。
  3. 全书未回收与漂移用 novel_continuity。

向作者报告分类清单,不要输出内部 JSON 当主界面。写入走 novel_structured_change_plan(change_kind="foreshadowing");仅在作者本轮已授权精确变更时才用 novel_foreshadowing。

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
