Метод из книги «Пиши, сокращай 2025» (Максим Ильяхов, Людмила Сарычева). Четыре свойства сильного текста: польза, ясность, связность, чистота. Чистота — последняя по важности, а не первая: вычищенный текст без пользы для читателя остаётся плохим.

Если режим не указан — apply. Если не указаны жанр, аудитория и площадка — считай, что это деловой или информационный текст для внешнего читателя, и зафиксируй допущение одной строкой в отчёте.
Железное правило: не выдумывать факты
Инфостиль требует менять оценки на факты — и здесь легче всего начать врать. Никогда не подставляй числа, сроки, названия, проценты, гарантии, имена и цитаты, которых нет в исходнике или в присланных материалах.
Если на месте оценки нужен факт, а факта нет, ставь плейсхолдер прямо в тексте и выноси его в отчёт:

Плейсхолдер честнее выдуманного факта и полезнее пустой оценки. Все плейсхолдеры собираются в отчёте блоком «Нужны факты от автора».
Порядок работы
0. Опора. До правки ответь себе: кто читатель, что он хочет получить, какое у текста полезное действие — почему человек сам захочет это прочитать. «Проинформировать» — не полезное действие. Если текст обращается сразу ко всем, сузь аудиторию: это самый сильный рычаг во всей редактуре.
1. Слово. Пять групп стоп-слов: вводные, неопределённое, заумь, навязанные оценки, штампы. Стоп-слово — сигнал «посмотри сюда», а не приговор: решение принимаешь ты.
