wc-admin-inline-scripts

wc-admin-inline-scripts is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Lonsdale201/wp-agent-skills. It costs 107 tokens per session (1,874 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide to adding small JavaScript pieces to WooCommerce admin pages, such as settings, product, shipping, and order screens. It shows how to attach code to a registered script and pass PHP data safely.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to migrate old inline scripts, add admin interactions, and send server-side values to browser code with safe JSON encoding.
Why use it?
It replaces WooCommerce's deprecated global JavaScript queue with code scoped to the correct admin page and script, making it easier to control and maintain.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00107 $0.01874
Opus 5 $0.00053 $0.00937
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00375
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00187

Security

Grade A, and why

wc-admin-inline-scripts scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

WooCommerce: admin inline scripts

Use this when adding or reviewing small JavaScript glue in WooCommerce admin screens, settings pages, shipping modals, product edit screens, or order admin UI.

Misconception this skill corrects

"WooCommerce has wc_enqueue_js(), so use that for admin inline JS."

Do not use it. In WooCommerce 11.0.0 the function still exists, but it is deprecated since 10.4.0 with the replacement wp_add_inline_script(). It appends code to a global queue printed by wc_print_js() on wp_footer and admin_footer, wrapped in jQuery(function($) { ... }). That global footer queue is hard to scope, hard to dequeue, and not tied to a real script handle.

When to use this skill

Trigger when ANY of the following is true:

  • Code contains wc_enqueue_js(), wc_print_js(), or woocommerce_queued_js.
  • Code echoes <script> tags from WooCommerce admin PHP callbacks.
  • A Woo settings field, shipping method modal, product data tab, order screen, or custom Woo admin page needs a small script or PHP-to-JS data.
  • You need to attach inline data to Woo admin handles such as woocommerce_admin, wc-enhanced-select, wc-shipping-zones, or a plugin-owned admin script.

The rule

Use a registered/enqueued script handle and attach inline code to that handle:

add_action( 'admin_enqueue_scripts', static function ( string $hook_suffix ): void {
    if ( 'woocommerce_page_wc-settings' !== $hook_suffix ) {
        return;
    }

    $tab = isset( $_GET['tab'] ) ? sanitize_key( wp_unslash( $_GET['tab'] ) ) : '';

    if ( 'shipping' !== $tab ) {
        return;
    }

    wp_enqueue_script(
        'myplugin-wc-admin',
        plugins_url( 'assets/admin.js', __FILE__ ),
        array( 'jquery', 'woocommerce_admin' ),
        '1.0.0',
        array( 'in_footer' => true )
    );

    $settings = array(
        'ajaxUrl' => admin_url( 'admin-ajax.php' ),
        'nonce'   => wp_create_nonce( 'myplugin_wc_admin' ),
    );

    wp_add_inline_script(
        'myplugin-wc-admin',
        'window.mypluginWcAdmin = ' . wp_json_encode( $settings ) . ';',
        'before'
    );
} );

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
