What it costs to keep this loaded
Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00000 | $0.03492 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00000 | $0.01746 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00000 | $0.00698 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00000 | $0.00349 |
Grade A, and why
market-router scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 295 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Market Router — SKILL.md
Role: Step 2 — Detect MCP availability, determine data mode (Enhanced/Standard), classify company type, identify peers, initialize a run-local artifact root, and write the research plan.
Triggered by: CLAUDE.md after Step 1 (query interpretation)
Reads: Session state from Step 1, references/company-type-classification.md
Writes: output/runs/{run_id}/{ticker}/research-plan.json
References: company-type-classification.md
Instructions
Step 2.1 — MCP Availability Detection
Always perform this check at session start (cached for the session — do not repeat per ticker).
Test call:
get_current_stock_price("<TICKER>")
| Result | Decision |
|---|---|
| Valid price returned | Enhanced Mode available |
| Error / timeout | Retry once after 2 seconds |
| Second failure | Standard Mode (yfinance + targeted web) |
| Korean stock (any market) | Always Standard Mode regardless of MCP |
Korean stocks are ALWAYS Standard Mode — Financial Datasets MCP does not support KRX.
Cache the result as session variable: DATA_MODE = "enhanced" | "standard"
Log:
MCP check: get_current_stock_price("<TICKER>") -> {result}
DATA_MODE: {enhanced/standard}
Step 2.2 — Company Type Classification
Read company-type-classification.md. Classify based on:
- Ticker/company name lookup (known companies)
- Sector from API (
get_financial_metricssector field, Enhanced Mode only) - Web search:
"{ticker}" sector industry classification site:finance.yahoo.com - Keyword matching in company name
Multi-segment rule: if company has 2+ segments with different economics (e.g., cloud + hardware, banking + insurance), classify as the primary revenue segment type, then note the secondary type.
Output classification with confidence:
- HIGH: ticker found in known list or API sector confirmed
- MEDIUM: inferred from keywords or partial data
- LOW: unknown, using "Other" as fallback
Step 2.3 — Peer Identification
What ships with it
1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

market-router is a skill published in the GitHub repository lowtidebuild/public-equity-research (46 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 3,492 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
