ai-product-design-rules: Skill for Cursor

.cursor/skills/ai-product-design-midfi/SKILL.md

ai-product-design-midfi is a skill for Cursor from luiscielak/ai-product-design-rules. It costs 57 tokens per session (815 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A mid-fidelity wireframing tool that turns low-fidelity screen plans into more detailed interface designs. It adds reusable components, spacing and text rules, interaction states, accessibility targets, and a browser-based overview.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define screens, component states such as loading and error, design tokens, content variations, and accessibility requirements.
Why use it?
It removes gaps between rough UX sketches and a final visual design by making structure and behavior explicit.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00057 $0.00815
Opus 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00326
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00163
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00081

Measured 5d ago against content hash 605449c392b6, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ai-product-design-midfi scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Mid-Fi Wireframes (Product Designer)

Convert lo-fi to mid-fi: tokens, components, states, accessibility notes, and a unified ui.html overview.

Pipeline

Stage in the ai-product-design chain: scaffold → /prd → /lofi → /midfi → /hifi → /ui-proto.

  • Previous: /lofi (ai-product-design-lofi) — read wireframes/lofi/
  • Next: /hifi (ai-product-design-hifi)

To run the whole chain in one pass, use the ai-product-design-workflow orchestrator. If the project uses an existing design system (e.g. Konstrukt), map tokens to it instead of generic Tailwind/shadcn defaults.

Inputs

Input Notes
screens From lo-fi
states default: default, hover, focus, disabled, loading, error, success
content_examples short/long
accessibility_targets WCAG AA

Artifact root

All deliverables for this product go under a single artifact_root:

  1. Definition: artifact_root is the directory that contains this product’s PRD.md and/or DESIGN-BRIEF.md (same folder is ideal). If files are split, prefer the folder the user attached or the one containing PRD.md.
  2. Resolve in order: (a) Parent directory of an attached or @-referenced PRD.md / DESIGN-BRIEF.md; (b) explicit path the user gives for the product docs folder; (c) greenfield only (/new-project or PRD with no path): projects/{project_name}/docs/.
  3. Do not default to repo-global docs/wireframes/, docs/ui-design/, or root docs/PRD.md when artifact_root is known.

Inputs path: Read lo-fi wireframes from {artifact_root}/wireframes/lofi/ (not repo-global docs/wireframes/lofi/).

Output

Directory: {artifact_root}/wireframes/midfi/

  • tokens.md — spacing, typography, color, radius, shadows (map to Tailwind)
  • components.md — inventory + anatomy, states, props, keyboard/focus
  • screens/<screen>.md — per screen
  • ui.html — unified overview with device frames (phone + browser)

tokens.md

  • Spacing: 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32 (Tailwind)
  • Typography: text-xs/sm/base/lg/xl/2xl; line-heights; weights
  • Color: neutrals, brand, semantic (Tailwind + shadcn)
  • Radius: sm/md/lg/full; Shadows: sm/md/lg

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
