Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00031 $0.00886
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00354
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00177
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00089

Measured 1mo ago against content hash b05a8f5f9e7e, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade C, and why

configure-codex scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Recursive force deletehighDestructive command

rm -rf with a variable or a broad path is one typo away from removing the wrong tree.

Configure Everything Codex

An interactive, step-by-step installation guide for the everything-codex project.

When to Activate

  • User says "configure codex", "install everything-codex", or similar
  • User wants to selectively install skills or rules
  • User wants to verify or fix an existing installation

Step 0: Clone Repository

rm -rf /tmp/everything-codex
git clone https://github.com/anthropics/everything-codex.git /tmp/everything-codex

Set ECX_ROOT=/tmp/everything-codex as the source for all subsequent operations.

Step 1: Choose Installation Level

Ask the user where to install:

  • User-level (~/.codex/ for config, ~/.agents/skills/ for skills) — Applies to all projects
  • Project-level (.agents/skills/ in project root) — Applies to current project only

Step 2: Select & Install Skills

Skill Categories

Use interactive prompts to let the user choose:

  • Core Workflow — plan, code-review, tdd, security-review, verify, checkpoint
  • Framework & Language — Django, Spring Boot, Go, Python, TypeScript patterns
  • Database — PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, JPA/Hibernate
  • Multi-Model — orchestrate, multi-plan, multi-execute, multi-workflow
  • Learning — continuous-learning-v2, learn, evolve, instinct management
  • All skills — Install everything

Execute Installation

# Skills install to ~/.agents/skills/ (user-level) or .agents/skills/ (project-level)
SKILLS_DIR="$HOME/.agents/skills"  # or .agents/skills for project-level
for skill_dir in $ECX_ROOT/skills/*/; do
    skill_name=$(basename "$skill_dir")
    mkdir -p "$SKILLS_DIR/$skill_name"
    cp -r "$skill_dir"* "$SKILLS_DIR/$skill_name/"
done

Step 3: Install AGENTS.md and Rules

# Root AGENTS.md
cp $ECX_ROOT/AGENTS.md ~/.codex/AGENTS.md

# Language-specific AGENTS.md templates
for lang in golang python typescript; do
    mkdir -p ~/.codex/$lang
    cp $ECX_ROOT/$lang/AGENTS.md ~/.codex/$lang/
done

# Execution policy rules
mkdir -p ~/.codex/rules
cp $ECX_ROOT/rules/*.rules ~/.codex/rules/

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

configure-codex is a skill published in the GitHub repository Luohaothu/everything-codex (25 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 31 tokens to every session and 886 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it C with 1 finding (recursive force delete). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
