multi-backend

multi-backend is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Luohaothu/everything-codex. It costs 29 tokens per session (326 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A collaborative workflow for backend development that moves through research, solution design, planning, implementation, optimization, and review, using multiple model backends.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for API design, algorithms, database optimization, business logic, and other server-side processing tasks.
Why use it?
It breaks complex server-side work into stages so requirements, design choices, risks, implementation, and quality checks are addressed in order.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00326
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00130
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00065
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00033

Security

Grade A, and why

multi-backend scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Backend-Focused Multi-Model Workflow

Advanced skill — Backend-focused development with Codex-led multi-model collaboration.

Usage

/multi-backend <backend task description>

Applicability

API design, algorithm implementation, database optimization, business logic, server-side processing.

Phases

Phase 1: Research

Understand requirements, retrieve existing APIs, data models, service architecture.

Phase 2: Ideation (Codex-Led)

  • Call Codex backend for technical feasibility analysis
  • Output: recommended solutions (at least 2), risk assessment
  • Wait for user selection

Phase 3: Planning (Codex-Led)

  • Call Codex for architecture design
  • Output: file structure, function/class design, dependencies
  • Save plan, wait for user approval

Phase 4: Implementation

Follow approved plan, ensure error handling, security, performance.

Phase 5: Optimization (Codex-Led)

  • Call Codex for code review
  • Focus: security, performance, error handling, API compliance
  • Execute optimization after user confirmation

Phase 6: Quality Review

Check completion, run tests, report issues.

Key Rules

  1. Codex backend opinions are authoritative
  2. Other model backend opinions are for reference only
  3. External models have zero filesystem write access
  4. All code writes handled by the orchestrator
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

multi-backend is a skill published in the GitHub repository Luohaothu/everything-codex (25 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 29 tokens to every session and 326 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
