docker

docker is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from LuuOW/meridian-mcp. It costs 44 tokens per session (3,270 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

Guidance for building and running Docker containers for Python, Node, Astro, and multi-service applications. It covers image structure, networking, storage, security, deployment, and monitoring.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to write production Dockerfiles, build multi-stage images, configure container networking and volumes, harden runtimes, and operate containerized services.
Why use it?
It helps make containers smaller, safer, easier to configure, and more predictable across development and production.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00044 $0.03270
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.01635
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00654
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00327

Security

Grade B, and why

docker scanned grade B with 3 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootlowPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

# 1. Never run as root

Downgraded: this mod is about security review, or the phrase is quoted, so it is likely naming the pattern rather than instructing it.

Reaches for credential filesmediumPrivilege escalation

SSH keys, cloud credentials, git-credentials, .npmrc, /etc/shadow: reading these is how a config file becomes a credential leak.

docker

Production containerization platform for Python/FastAPI, Node/Astro, and multi-service architectures. Covers the full lifecycle: image design, build pipelines, runtime configuration, security hardening, networking, storage, and operational observability. Independent of any specific cloud provider or orchestrator.

Image Architecture

Multi-stage builds are the default. Single-stage images are only acceptable for local development throwaway containers.

# Python service — minimal production image
FROM python:3.12-slim AS builder
WORKDIR /app
COPY requirements.txt .
RUN pip install --no-cache-dir --prefix=/install -r requirements.txt

FROM python:3.12-slim AS runtime
WORKDIR /app
RUN useradd -m -u 1000 appuser
COPY --from=builder /install /usr/local
COPY --chown=appuser:appuser . .
USER appuser
EXPOSE 9002
CMD ["uvicorn", "app.main:app", "--host", "0.0.0.0", "--port", "9002"]
# Node/Astro service — separate build and static-serve stages
FROM node:20-slim AS builder
WORKDIR /app
COPY package*.json ./
RUN npm ci --include=dev
COPY . .
RUN npm run build

FROM node:20-slim AS runtime
WORKDIR /app
RUN useradd -m -u 1000 nodeuser
COPY --from=builder --chown=nodeuser:nodeuser /app/dist ./dist
COPY --from=builder --chown=nodeuser:nodeuser /app/node_modules ./node_modules
COPY --from=builder --chown=nodeuser:nodeuser /app/package.json .
USER nodeuser
EXPOSE 8080
CMD ["node", "dist/server/entry.mjs"]
# Distroless — for services with no shell requirement (maximum attack surface reduction)
FROM golang:1.22 AS builder
WORKDIR /app
COPY go.* ./
RUN go mod download
COPY . .
RUN CGO_ENABLED=0 go build -o /bin/server ./cmd/server

FROM gcr.io/distroless/static-debian12
COPY --from=builder /bin/server /server
EXPOSE 8080
ENTRYPOINT ["/server"]

Layer order rule: dependencies before source. Least-changed layers at the top. COPY . . always last.

.dockerignore

Every project needs one. Missing .dockerignore sends node_modules, .git, and .env to the build context — slowing builds and leaking secrets into image history.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

docker is a skill published in the GitHub repository LuuOW/meridian-mcp (0 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 44 tokens to every session and 3,270 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 3 findings (asks for root, reaches for credential files, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
