ui-visual-self-review

ui-visual-self-review is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from makifbaysal/tasktrooper. It costs 35 tokens per session (1,574 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A visual checking procedure for user-interface changes. It uses a browser and screenshots at four screen widths to inspect whether a page renders correctly and fits without unwanted overflow.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after changing a web page or component. It helps verify rendered content, responsive layouts, and visible problems at different viewport sizes.
Why use it?
A build can pass while a page still looks broken, is empty, or scrolls sideways. This process catches visual and responsive problems before handoff.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00035 $0.01574
Opus 5.5 $0.00014 $0.00630
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00315
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00157

Security

Grade A, and why

ui-visual-self-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

UI Visual Self-Review

Overview

A change that compiles and passes its tests has not been looked at. The UI you're about to hand off is not done because the build is green or because you read the JSX and it looked right — it is done when you have screenshots at four widths that prove it.

Core principle: Default assumption: the change is NOT done until the screenshots prove it. Be the skeptic here, not the advocate — look for what's still wrong, not for confirmation that it's fine.

The procedure (exact tool calls)

  1. Start the dev server detached, as your main instructions' "Seeing the change" section describes: mkdir -p /tmp/tt-<task key> && npm run dev > /tmp/tt-<task key>/dev.log 2>&1 &, then sleep 5; cat /tmp/tt-<task key>/dev.log to read the port.
  2. browser_navigate to the changed page.
  3. browser_wait_for the content that proves the page actually rendered (not a spinner, not a blank shell).
  4. For each width in the four-width table, in order:
    • browser_set_viewport with the exact args from the table below.
    • Read its response: whether the page scrolls horizontally, and which elements overflow. That response is itself a finding — don't discard it once you've glanced at the screenshot.
    • browser_screenshot with full_page: true and no width argument (passing width here re-emulates the viewport and silently throws away the size you just set).
    • Look at the screenshot against the checklist below.
  5. browser_read_dom with contains: "..." for each new element, to confirm it's actually present (and whether hidden) — this is not a substitute for looking at the screenshot, it's a second signal.
  6. Drive the interactive states at phone width at minimum: open the mobile menu, an accordion, a dialog; submit a form with empty required fields and look at the errors.
Name Width browser_set_viewport call Tailwind band
phone 360 {device: "mobile", width: 360} below sm
tablet 768 {device: "tablet"} md
laptop 1024 {device: "desktop", width: 1024} lg
desktop 1440 {device: "desktop"} xl+

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
