strategy-management

strategy-management is a skill for Claude Code from MangroveTechnologies/mangrove-agent. It costs 96 tokens per session (2,014 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A manager for trading strategies after they have been created. It tracks states such as draft, inactive, paper, live, and archived; paper trading is simulated trading, while live trading uses real execution.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to list strategies, inspect their stored rules and status, archive them, or deploy them to paper or live trading when authorised.
Why use it?
It makes the difference between a saved strategy, a simulated strategy, and a live strategy clear. It also keeps archiving separate from deleting and requires a deliberate choice before deployment.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00096 $0.02014
Opus 5.5 $0.00038 $0.00806
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00403
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00201

Security

Grade A, and why

strategy-management scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 140 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

These instructions describe MangroveAI server tools and server-owned records. Discover current tools and input schemas through MCP before calling them; report unavailable capabilities without substituting a local implementation. Local execution workflows use agent_ tools and local strategy IDs. Do not pass IDs between those stores.

A strategy the user already has

Every claim here is about money and permanence, so the standard is that you say what a state means rather than what it sounds like. A draft is not a strategy waiting to be switched on, and archived is not deleted, and a deploy button is not a deploy.

Two stores, and which one answers which question

Strategies live in two places, and answering from the wrong one is how a person with fifteen live strategies gets told they have none. This service's own store holds DEFINITIONS -- what was composed and backtested here -- and it never learns what is deployed. The PLATFORM is the source of record for deployment: what is live, what is paper, what money is behind it.

So: "my strategies", "my live strategies", "what's running", "how are they doing", or anything about deployed money -- list_platform_strategies, always. It returns each strategy's status and deployed_mode with balances, returns and open positions, plus live/paper counts you can quote directly. Each strategy carries deposited_balance_* (principal) and total_balance_* (current equity). "How much have I put in vs what is it worth now" is answered by those two, per strategy, summed across live strategies when the user asks about their portfolio. list_strategies is for the drafts and compositions authored in this chat -- rules and signals, never deployment. When the platform tool answers available: false, relay its reason rather than falling back to the local list as if it were the same thing -- it is not.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

strategy-management is a skill published in the GitHub repository MangroveTechnologies/mangrove-agent (5 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 96 tokens to every session and 2,014 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-14.
