activation-retention-intelligence

activation-retention-intelligence is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from manishiitg/coding-agent-loop. It costs 24 tokens per session (795 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An evidence-based analysis of customer activation, retention, and feature adoption. Activation means reaching an early sign of success; retention means continuing to use or pay for a product over time.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to compare customer groups, find behaviours linked to success or churn, and assess feature effects on retention and revenue.
Why use it?
It helps explain why some customer groups stay while others leave, and whether particular features affect continued use or revenue.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00024 $0.00795
Opus 5.5 $0.00010 $0.00318
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00005 $0.00159
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00080

Security

Grade A, and why

activation-retention-intelligence scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 20d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/test_validate_handoff.py, scripts/validate_handoff.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Activation and Retention Intelligence

Outcome

Lifecycle Analyst measures day-7 activation and day-30 retention for signup cohorts. Growth Experiment Planner consumes a mature observation and proposes one test. Cohort differences do not prove cause or individual churn.

When to use

Use with authorized signup, usage and subscription records. New Customer to First Value covers one account's result; Funnel and Conversion Intelligence covers signup-to-paid conversion. This route compares mature cohorts or records one baseline. An immature cohort waits.

Discovery and user direction

Builder inspects lifecycle definitions, maturity cutoff, source coverage, identity join, owner and existing Crews. It proposes reuse or creation of distinct Lifecycle Analyst and Growth Experiment Planner Crews, then shows the source and review plan in chat. Selection creates no Crew, customer contact, query, variant or schedule.

Required inputs

Record product and tenant, equal signup-cohort windows, eligible-account definition, activation and day-30 retention predicates with versions, identity and exclusion rules, timezone, maturity date, event and billing sources, minimum coverage, owner, metric, guardrail and approval policy. Feedback is optional and needs authorized access.

Plan and AgentWorks tools

  1. Bind two Crew IDs and Workflow steps. Lifecycle Analyst saves cohort-retention-observation/v1 with source references and one of comparable, baseline_first or pending_maturity. Run python3 scripts/validate_handoff.py observation <observation.json> as a blocking step.
  2. Stop if the cohort is immature. Otherwise pass the validated file by checked alias. Growth Experiment Planner preserves exact policy, cohort IDs and observed rates, then saves pending retention-experiment-plan/v1. Run python3 scripts/validate_handoff.py plan <observation.json> <plan.json> before reporting.
  3. Review the result and test proposal with the owner. Assignment, power calculation, variant launch, customer action and outcome measurement need separately reviewed routes.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
