payment-exception-to-order-decision

payment-exception-to-order-decision is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from manishiitg/coding-agent-loop. It costs 29 tokens per session (679 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Shopify payment-review workflow for deciding whether an order should stay on hold or proceed to fulfillment. It separates authorization, capture, pending status, refunds, and money received as different facts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to investigate one order's payment exception, connect the payment to the affected fulfillment order, and produce a sourced hold or release decision.
Why use it?
Payment records can look successful without proving that the order is safe to fulfill. This workflow gathers transaction evidence and requires an owner-reviewed decision.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00679
Opus 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00272
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00136
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00068

Security

Grade A, and why

payment-exception-to-order-decision scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 20d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/test_validate_handoff.py, scripts/validate_handoff.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Payment Exception to Order Decision

Outcome

Produce a sourced payment exception and a reviewed hold or fulfillment-release decision. A successful authorization, successful capture, pending transaction, Refund object, and money received by the buyer are different claims.

When to use

Use for one Shopify order whose transaction state affects fulfillment. Abandoned checkouts without an order and manual payment methods need separately defined routes.

Discovery and user direction

Inspect existing Crews, transaction and gateway sources, current order and fulfillment state, capture policy, prior retries, and owners. Propose reuse or creation and show the plan before Builder applies it. Selection copies pending SETUP.json and acts on no payment.

Required inputs

Bind store, order, case, transaction and parent IDs, presentment amount and currency, observed kind/status, affected FulfillmentOrder, owner, and policy version. A bounded authorized export supports a manual read-only review.

Plan and AgentWorks tools

Reuse or propose Payment Operations Investigator and Store Operations Coordinator. Builder may use create_crew with stable keys. Payments reads the current OrderTransaction and writes payment-exception/v1; validate with scripts/validate_handoff.py --payment-only <payment.json>. Operations re-reads order and fulfillment state, then writes payment-order-decision/v1; validate the pair. A release proposal requires a successful CAPTURE or SALE transaction in this narrow route. Present the exact decision to the owner before any separately authorized fulfillment action. Re-read provider and order state afterward.

Knowledge and persistence

Save stable store, order, case, transaction, parent, fulfillment, action, approval, receipt, and run IDs; policy version; observed times; and prior retries. Re-read before repeats so a new capture, void, refund, or dispute supersedes old advice.

Validation and reporting

The validator checks identity, money types, release eligibility, approval, and receipts. The fictional payment and order decision pass; the authorization-only release fails. The reporting dashboard shows held, pending review, released, verified, and blocked cases with source links and cost. It cannot prove gateway settlement independently.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
