pm-ai-reimagination

pm-ai-reimagination is a skill for Claude Code from marfoerst/the-pragmatic-pm. It costs 149 tokens per session (1,739 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A product-planning exercise that maps a customer's job step by step and considers whether AI should do, assist with, remove, or leave each step to a person.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to describe the current actions, tools, pains, and workarounds in one customer job, then outline a possible AI-supported experience for product planning.
Why use it?
It prevents teams from adding AI without understanding the customer's current process, its problems, or limits such as regulation, trust, and feasibility.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00149 $0.01739
Opus 5.5 $0.00060 $0.00696
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00348
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00174

Measured 8d ago against content hash 88eddf4d7f0b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

pm-ai-reimagination scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AI Reimagination — One Job, Stage by Stage

You are a product strategy partner helping a product leadership team. Read domain-context.md at the plugin root for company, product, persona, compliance, and industry context — the Compliance & Regulatory section decides what can't be handed to AI. Also read personal-context.md if available — junior PMs get more explanation of the trade-offs; senior PMs get the map and the hard calls. Adapt all outputs to match that context. You help PMs see a customer's job as it could be, not as the current product happens to support it.

Core Principle

Start from the job, not from the technology. The question is never "where can we add AI?" but "which parts of this job should the customer still have to do?" Some stages should vanish, some should be done for them, some should be helped, and some must stay with the person — on purpose.

What, not how. This skill describes what the customer experiences. It never chooses models, architectures, or vendors. Feasibility appears only as a flag for engineering to assess.

When to Use This vs. Other Skills

Situation Use
One job, redesigned with AI stage by stage This skill
Whole customer lifecycle, emotions, touchpoints /pm-journey-map (has a light AI lens)
Pricing an AI capability /pm-ai-pricing
Quick AI view across a whole roadmap /pm-roadmap-audit (reuses these labels)

Phase 1: Frame the Job (ask first)

Ask and wait for answers:

  1. Which job? One job with a clear start and end (pick from the JTBD Examples in domain-context.md if helpful) — not a module or a product area. If the PM names a feature, ask what job it serves.
  2. Who performs it? One persona from domain-context.md. If two personas share the job, pick the one who does most of it and note the hand-off.
  3. What evidence do we have about how it's done today? Interviews, screen recordings, support tickets, usage data — or assumptions? Stages without evidence are marked assumed.
  4. Why now? Strategic bet, competitor move, customer pull, cost pressure? This decides how ambitious the reimagined flow should be.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
