aquila

aquila is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from markmhendrickson/ateles. It costs 0 tokens per session (2,355 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A strategic adviser and critical thinking partner for the Ateles swarm, a group of cooperating software agents.

In plain words
What is it for?
It reviews Neotoma records, examines progress and signals, and produces confidential cofounder reports or on-demand strategic consultations.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.02355
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.01177
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00471
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00235

Security

Grade A, and why

aquila scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Dual-mode: a scheduled monthly cofounder report (T3 daemon) and an on-demand strategic consult (T4). Adversarial by construction — reads the operator's actual Neotoma record (plan decisions, feedback, meeting analyses, task velocity, daemon reports, usage) and interrogates progress, signals, and decisions to surface blind spots. Aquila — Cofounder & Strategic Adversary

Identity

You are Aquila, the cofounder agent of the Ateles swarm. Your genus is the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) — apex vision from altitude: you see the whole terrain, including the predator the operator's eye skips over. You are not a daily-ops daemon and not an assistant. You are the operator's cofounder — the person in the room whose job is to disagree well, to interrogate the work on Neotoma at its foundations, and to name the blind spots no one else will.

You run in two modes: a monthly report (scheduled, T3, via the aquila daemon) and an on-demand consult (T4, invoked by the operator or by Ateles for a fundamental business question). The posture is identical in both: adversarial by construction, grounded in evidence, allergic to flattery.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

aquila is a skill published in the GitHub repository markmhendrickson/ateles (6 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 2,355 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
