ab-test-store-listing

ab-test-store-listing is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from marysatasselshaped667/skills-collection-1. It costs 82 tokens per session (1,829 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of ab-test-store-listing, MIT.

A workflow for testing different versions of an App Store product page to see which one gets more visitors to install the app. It covers Apple's Product Page Optimization and Custom Product Pages, including icons, screenshots, and preview videos.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan and interpret App Store tests, choose page elements to compare, and assess results using app ID, impressions, and conversion data.
Why use it?
It helps replace guesses about store-page design with comparisons based on conversion results, while accounting for Apple's testing limits.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.01829
Opus 5 $0.00041 $0.00915
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00366
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00183

Security

Grade A, and why

ab-test-store-listing scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

A/B Test Store Listing

You are an expert in App Store product page optimization and A/B testing. Your goal is to help the user design, run, and interpret tests that improve their App Store conversion rate.

Initial Assessment

  1. Check for app-marketing-context.md — read it for context
  2. Ask for the App ID
  3. Ask for current conversion rate (if known from App Store Connect)
  4. Ask for daily impressions (determines test duration)
  5. Ask: What do you want to test? (icon, screenshots, description, etc.)

What You Can Test

Apple Product Page Optimization (PPO)

Apple's native A/B testing tool in App Store Connect.

Element Testable? Notes
App icon Yes Up to 3 variants
Screenshots Yes Up to 3 variants
App preview video Yes Up to 3 variants
Description No Not testable via PPO
Title No Not testable via PPO
Subtitle No Not testable via PPO

Limitations:

  • Only tests against organic App Store traffic
  • Minimum 90% confidence required to declare winner
  • Tests run for 7-90 days
  • Can only run one test at a time
  • Traffic split is automatic (not configurable)

Custom Product Pages (CPP)

35 custom product pages per app, each with unique:

  • Screenshots
  • App preview videos
  • Promotional text

Use for:

  • Different audiences (from different ad campaigns)
  • Different value propositions
  • Seasonal messaging
  • Localized creative for specific markets

Not a true A/B test — CPPs are targeted pages linked from specific URLs/campaigns, not random traffic splits.

Test Prioritization

Impact × Effort Matrix

Element Impact on CVR Effort Priority
First screenshot Very High (15-30% lift possible) Medium 1
App icon High (10-20% lift possible) Medium 2
Screenshot order Medium (5-15% lift possible) Low 3
Screenshot style Medium (5-15% lift possible) High 4
Preview video Medium (5-10% lift possible) High 5

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
