repo-debugging

repo-debugging is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Master0fFate/forloop-mcp. It costs 17 tokens per session (188 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A step-by-step guide for finding and fixing failing tests in a local code repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to reproduce test failures, inspect relevant code, propose a small change for approval, and verify whether the tests pass.
Why use it?
It keeps debugging focused and checks the tests before and after each proposed change, so fixes are based on evidence.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00017 $0.00188
Opus 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00075
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00003 $0.00038
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00019

Security

Grade A, and why

repo-debugging scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Repo Debugging

Use this skill when the user asks the loop to diagnose and fix failing tests in a local repository.

Procedure

  1. Reproduce the failure with repo.run_tests before changing code.
  2. Inspect the smallest relevant files with repo.read_file or repo.search_code.
  3. Propose one focused patch through repo.apply_patch.
  4. Require approval before any file mutation.
  5. Run the configured test command again after every patch.
  6. Stop only when the latest test run passes or the loop budget is exhausted.

Output Discipline

Return one JSON decision per turn. Do not claim tests passed unless a repo.run_tests result confirms it.

Completion Criteria

  • The configured test command passes.
  • The final answer names what changed and how it was verified.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
