export-map

export-map is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from MattArtzAnthro/gephi-ai. It costs 44 tokens per session (762 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A workflow for exporting the network map currently open in Gephi, a desktop tool for exploring connected data, as clean PNG, labeled PNG, and SVG files. It first checks that the map has been arranged and styled.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create publication-ready map images, add labels, export an SVG for editing, and prepare a caption handoff.
Why use it?
It avoids exporting an unreadable image of overlapping default nodes or a map that has not been prepared for viewing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00044 $0.00762
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00381
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00152
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00076

Security

Grade A, and why

export-map scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Export Map

Export the map currently open in Gephi: a clean PNG, a labeled PNG, and an SVG. This command exports; it does not lay out or style. The map has to be a map first (laid out, sized, colored), which the visualize-network workflow does.

Tell the user what you're doing at each step — narrate briefly before each tool call so they know what's happening.

Steps

  1. Health check: Call gephi_health_check. If it fails, tell the user to start Gephi and stop.

  2. Graph info: Call gephi_get_project_info. Tell the user the node/edge counts. If the graph is empty, stop and tell them.

  3. Is it a map yet? Call gephi_visual_qa (with the partition column if the graph has one). If its warnings include the "looks untouched" warning, or sizes.flat is true and colors.distinct is 1, the graph has been loaded but not laid out or styled: exporting now produces the block of overlapping default nodes. Say that, and offer the recommended path: use visualize-network (layout, sizes, colors, with a visual check) and then export. Only continue without it if the user says so. If visual_qa returns other warnings (invisible sizes, near-white colors, an exploded layout), fix or flag them before exporting.

  4. Set preview settings for clean export (no labels). Call gephi_set_preview_settings with:

    {
      "node.label.show": false,
      "edge.opacity": 25,
      "edge.curved": true,
      "edge.color": "source",
      "edge.thickness": 2.0,
      "node.opacity": 100,
      "node.border.width": 0.3,
      "arrow.size": 0
    }

    Tell the user: "Setting preview to clean mode — no labels, community-colored edges."

  5. Export clean PNG: Call gephi_export_png with file set to the user's path or ~/Desktop/network.png, at width: 3840, height: 2160. Tell the user: "Exporting clean PNG at 4K resolution..."

  6. Enable labels and export annotated version:

    • Call gephi_set_preview_settings with:
      {
        "node.label.show": true,
        "node.label.proportinalSize": false,
        "node.label.font": "Arial 10 Plain",
        "node.label.outline.size": 4,
        "node.label.outline.opacity": 95,
        "edge.opacity": 15
      }

    • Export with _labeled suffix. Tell the user: "Exporting labeled version..."

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

export-map is a skill published in the GitHub repository MattArtzAnthro/gephi-ai (21 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 44 tokens to every session and 762 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
