design-reviewer

design-reviewer is a skill for Claude Code from matteotitta/genesys-skills. It costs 158 tokens per session (4,795 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A review process for React, Tailwind, and CSS interfaces that scores visual quality across five areas and reports problems by severity. It focuses on the design of an implemented interface rather than the wording or internal quality of an instruction file.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to audit an interface, check whether it looks artificial or repetitive, review design quality, and produce prioritized fixes for visual deliverables.
Why use it?
It turns visual inspection into a structured review, making usability and design problems easier to prioritize before release.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00158 $0.04795
Opus 5 $0.00079 $0.02397
Sonnet 5 $0.00032 $0.00959
Haiku 4.5 $0.00016 $0.00479

Security

Grade A, and why

design-reviewer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 318 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Design Reviewer

Review any visual deliverable for design quality across 5 dimensions, scored 0–4 each (Nielsen-style rubric, 20 points max). Produces a P0–P3 severity-tagged report with token-cited findings and prioritized remediation. Mirrors voice-reviewer's role for content — but for visual output.

This skill also hosts the shared design-quality library at the premium reference. Output skills (vibe-coding, dashboard, figma-prototype, website-build, website-wireframe, product-ui-frames) relative-link into these references for their internal design-cycle phases. Reference-only consumption does not require invoking this skill.

Claude Code Triggers

Invoke this skill when:

  • "design check this"
  • "is this AI-slop?"
  • "audit this UI"
  • "review the design"
  • "design quality review"
  • "ship-ready check"

Do NOT invoke when:

  • User wants content voice review → use /voice-reviewer instead
  • User wants SKILL.md review → use /skill-reviewer instead
  • User wants to generate UI → use /vibe-coding, /dashboard, /website-build, or /figma-prototype
  • User wants brand strategy work → use /brand-kit instead

Input Requirements

Required inputs

Input Description Source
Output to review The implemented UI (React/Tailwind code, screenshots, deployed URL, or Figma file) User provides — file paths, URL, or screenshot

Optional inputs (improve quality)

Input How it helps
Client name + brand-kit DESIGN.md Activates token-compliance scoring against the client's actual tokens
Output type (landing page / dashboard / app / wireframe) Adjusts dimension weighting (e.g., a wireframe doesn't need motion-craft scoring)
Source code context (if reviewing implemented UI) Enables anti-pattern detection at the code level (gradient text bans, side-stripe checks, drop-shadow audits)

Input validation

Before proceeding, verify:

  • Output is a visual deliverable (not raw text content — that's voice-reviewer's job)
  • If reviewing code: source files are accessible
  • If reviewing a deployed page: URL is reachable

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
