Getting it into your agent
This one installs as part of its plugin. Adding the marketplace and installing the plugin brings it with everything else the plugin ships.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00124 | $0.02693 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00050 | $0.01077 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00025 | $0.00539 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00012 | $0.00269 |
Grade A, and why
validate scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 175 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Validate eval cases before a run spends money
A case that fails to load costs the same as one that works. scripts/validate-cases.py reads the
suite off disk and reports what would break, with no model call and no network access.
Run it
python3 "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/validate/scripts/validate-cases.py" <eval-dir>
<eval-dir> is the directory holding the cases, evals/ under the plugin root by default. Add
--json for the findings as an array of {level, case, file, message} objects; --help prints
the full contract from the script's header.
| Exit | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 0 | no FAIL finding. WARN findings are printed and do not gate |
| 1 | at least one FAIL finding |
| 2 | usage error, or the eval dir is missing or unreadable |
Findings print one per line as <FAIL|WARN> <case>/<file>: <message>, sorted by case then file; a
finding about the suite as a whole carries the eval dir in place of <case>/<file>.
What the two tiers mean
FAIL is what the binary itself rejects: an unknown prompt.md frontmatter key, a grader with no
usable type, an unknown option for the declared grader type, a case with no grader, two graders
sharing a name, a non-positive weight, runs / max_turns / timeout_seconds out of bounds, an
env key that does not match EVAL_[A-Z0-9_]*, a case that has a case.yaml but no
schema_version or name in it or in prompt.md frontmatter (without a case.yaml the binary
supplies both), a case with no prompt (prompt.md body or execution.prompt), a grader missing an
option its type requires, and a schema_version that is not a quoted version string or whose
major is newer than the binary supports. The complete sets the script checks, so a question about
a key or a type is answered here without opening the script:
prompt.mdfrontmatter keys:schema_version,name,description,tags,plugins,runs,expected_outcome,model,max_turns,timeout_seconds,allowed_tools,append_system_prompt,env. A time limit istimeout_seconds;timeoutis an unknown key, so the case fails to load.- Grader
type:regex,tool_order,tool_used,file_exists,llm,baseline. Any other value, such ascontainsorstring_match, is no usable type, so the case fails to load. A substring or pattern check istype: regexwith the text inpattern. - Options per type, beside the
type, weight, armandnameevery grader takes:regexpattern,flags,match,target;tool_usedtool,input_match,min,max;tool_orderbefore,after;file_existspath,exists;llmcriteria,focus;baselinebaseline_file,criteria. - Required options per type:
regexpattern;tool_usedtool;tool_orderbefore,after;file_existspath;llmcriteria;baselinebaseline_file,criteria. Agraders/*.mdbody stands in forpattern(regex) orcriteria(llm, baseline). - Bounds:
runs1 to 50,max_turns1 to 200,timeout_seconds1 to 3600.
What ships with it
4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

validate is a skill published in the GitHub repository melodic-software/claude-code-plugins (26 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 124 tokens to every session and 2,693 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-14.
