notion

notion is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from MerkyorLynn/Lynn. It costs 17 tokens per session (1,533 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of notion, Apache-2.0.

A set of instructions for using the Notion API, which lets programs manage Notion pages, databases, and content blocks. It covers authentication and common read, search, and update operations.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find pages or data sources, read page details, and create or update Notion content through API requests.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork from connecting an agent or script to a Notion workspace.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00017 $0.01533
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00766
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00307
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00153

Security

Grade A, and why

notion scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

notion

Use the Notion API to create/read/update pages, data sources (databases), and blocks.

Setup

  1. Create an integration at https://notion.so/my-integrations
  2. Copy the API key (starts with ntn_ or secret_)
  3. Store it:
mkdir -p ~/.config/notion
echo "ntn_your_key_here" > ~/.config/notion/api_key
  1. Share target pages/databases with your integration (click "..." → "Connect to" → your integration name)

API Basics

All requests need:

NOTION_KEY=$(cat ~/.config/notion/api_key)
curl -X GET "https://api.notion.com/v1/..." \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json"

Note: The Notion-Version header is required. This skill uses 2025-09-03 (latest). In this version, databases are called "data sources" in the API.

Common Operations

Search for pages and data sources:

curl -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/search" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"query": "page title"}'

Get page:

curl "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages/{page_id}" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03"

Get page content (blocks):

curl "https://api.notion.com/v1/blocks/{page_id}/children" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03"

Create page in a data source:

curl -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/pages" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "parent": {"database_id": "xxx"},
    "properties": {
      "Name": {"title": [{"text": {"content": "New Item"}}]},
      "Status": {"select": {"name": "Todo"}}
    }
  }'

Query a data source (database):

curl -X POST "https://api.notion.com/v1/data_sources/{data_source_id}/query" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $NOTION_KEY" \
  -H "Notion-Version: 2025-09-03" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "filter": {"property": "Status", "select": {"equals": "Active"}},
    "sorts": [{"property": "Date", "direction": "descending"}]
  }'

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
