Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |

Grade B, and why
auth-authz-patterns scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

A POST to an outside endpoint may be telemetry or may be exfiltration; either way the mod talks to somewhere, and you should know where.

Authentication and Authorization Patterns
Overview
Authentication (who you are) and authorization (what you can do) failures are among the most critical security vulnerabilities. Tokens stored in the wrong place, missing expiry, roles checked only on the frontend, hardcoded secrets — each is a breach waiting to happen. Use this guide during code review and implementation to catch auth hazards before they ship.
When to use: Reviewing auth flows, JWT handling, role/permission enforcement, service-to-service calls, session management, or any code dealing with identity and access control.
Quick Reference
| Pattern | Core Idea | Primary Red Flag |
|---|---|---|
| OAuth2 Authorization Code + PKCE | Exchange short-lived code for tokens; PKCE prevents code interception | No PKCE on public clients, authorization code reuse |
| OAuth2 Client Credentials | Machine-to-machine token exchange using client secret | Client secret in source code or env var committed to VCS |
| OAuth2 Device Flow | Polling-based flow for input-constrained devices | No user code expiry, infinite polling |
| OIDC / ID Tokens | Identity layer on top of OAuth2; ID token asserts who the user is | Trusting ID token audience blindly, not validating nonce |
| JWT Best Practices | Short-lived access tokens, HttpOnly refresh cookies, rotation | JWT in localStorage, no expiry (exp claim missing) |
| RBAC | Roles mapped to permission sets; enforced server-side | Role checks only in UI, permission sprawl |
| ABAC / OPA / Cedar | Policy decisions based on subject + resource + environment attributes | Hardcoded attribute logic scattered in application code |
| mTLS / Workload Identity | Mutual TLS or platform identity (SPIFFE/SVID) for service auth | Shared API key across services, no certificate rotation |
| Session Management | Secure cookies, fixation prevention, rotation on privilege change | Session ID in URL, no rotation after login |
| Auth Anti-Patterns | Common mistakes that create vulnerabilities | localStorage JWT, no expiry, frontend-only role checks |
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

auth-authz-patterns is a skill published in the GitHub repository mickeyyaya/refactoring-skills (6 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 89 tokens to every session and 5,379 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (sends data to an external url). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
