check-execution-readiness

check-execution-readiness is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from microsoft/cat-agent-skills. It costs 162 tokens per session (2,581 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A read-only check of whether a legal document appears complete enough to sign. It looks for party and date details, signature blocks, blanks, placeholders, TBD markers, and unresolved tracked changes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for a final document-completion check before execution, with each issue tied to its location and what is needed. It does not assess legal validity, commercial acceptability, authorisation, or jurisdiction-specific signing rules.
Why use it?
It catches unfinished document details that could delay signing or make it unclear who is signing and when the agreement takes effect.

About the project

microsoft/cat-agent-skills is a static website that catalogs reusable instruction sets and related packages for AI agents. People use it to search, filter, rate, and download skills for Cowork, Copilot Studio, and Scout, along with Copilot plugins and Scout automations. The catalogue entries are the skills, instructions, plugins, and settings displayed by the site.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00162 $0.02581
Opus 5.5 $0.00065 $0.01032
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00032 $0.00516
Haiku 4.5 $0.00016 $0.00258

Security

Grade A, and why

check-execution-readiness scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Check execution readiness

Review the complete supplied document and give the user a clear, read-only assessment of whether it appears ready for execution. Identify document-completion issues involving parties, dates, signature blocks and unresolved drafting, each carried by an exact quotation attributed to its clause, field, schedule or signature block.

Do not suggest, draft or stage edits. Do not modify the document and do not provide replacement wording.

This is an execution readiness check focused on document completion. It does not provide assurance that the agreement is legally valid, commercially acceptable, properly authorized, or compliant with execution requirements in every applicable jurisdiction.

When NOT to Use

  • A defined terms audit or a cross-reference audit of one document — use check-defined-terms or check-cross-references.
  • Explaining what the open tracked changes actually say or who moved which way — use summarize-redlines. This skill flags only that unresolved changes exist.
  • The current operative position across a master agreement and its amendments — use analyze-related-contracts.
  • A field-by-field key terms table — use compare-key-terms.
  • Obligations, deadlines or a post-signature tracker — use extract-obligations-and-deadlines.
  • A general question about what a clause says or does — use legal-reasoning; a written memorandum — use draft-legal-memo.
  • Producing or editing a file — a Word document, workbook, deck or PDF — use docx, xlsx, pptx or pdf. This skill creates no file and changes none.
  • Advising whether the agreement is enforceable, validly executed, properly authorized, or should be signed — out of scope entirely; see Guardrails.

Hand-off rule. If a request, or part of one, matches an item above that names another skill, do not do that part here — even when the documents are already open and the work looks quick. Name the skill that handles it (for example, "That part is a job for check-defined-terms") and stop that part; finish only what belongs to this skill. If the named skill is not installed, say so plainly and do not attempt it here.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
