create-playbook

create-playbook is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from microsoft/cat-agent-skills. It costs 153 tokens per session (3,428 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A Word document playbook built from several precedent agreements, such as signed contracts or drafts containing your side’s negotiation changes. It summarises recurring positions, accepted alternatives, and counsel decisions for future contract reviews.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare a contract-review guide from a collection of precedents. It is not for reviewing one agreement, drafting a new contract, or extracting fields into a comparison table.
Why use it?
It turns scattered past agreements and negotiation outcomes into review guidance, without treating frequent wording as automatically approved policy or legal advice.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00153 $0.03428
Opus 5.5 $0.00061 $0.01371
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00031 $0.00686
Haiku 4.5 $0.00015 $0.00343

Security

Grade A, and why

create-playbook scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 262 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Create playbook

Build a reviewable draft contract review playbook from documents the user identifies as precedents — signed or executed agreements, approved templates, or drafts carrying the user's own side's negotiation markup — and deliver it as one .docx. Never modify a source precedent.

This workflow is evidence synthesis, not contract review. It identifies recurring positions across the precedents; it does not turn frequency into policy, assert enforceability, or make unresolved legal and commercial decisions for counsel.

When NOT to Use

  • Producing a new agreement, clause set or template from one precedent. This skill writes guidance about instruments, not the instrument itself.
  • Reviewing, redlining or advising on a single agreement — use review-contract.
  • Explaining what changed between marked-up versions — use summarize-redlines.
  • Field-by-field tabular extraction across documents — use compare-key-terms.
  • Obligations and deadlines into a tracker — use extract-obligations-and-deadlines.
  • A written memorandum of advice — use draft-legal-memo.
  • Any request for legal advice, enforceability opinions or risk scoring, and any document the user has not identified as a precedent for this exercise.

Hand-off rule. If a request, or part of one, matches an item above that names another skill, do not do that part here — even when the documents are already open and the work looks quick. Name the skill that handles it (for example, "That part is a job for review-contract") and stop that part; finish only what belongs to this skill. If the named skill is not installed, say so plainly and do not attempt it here.

Known limitations

There is no live Word surface and no in-place editing or commenting: sources are read as files and the deliverable is a new .docx. There is no block-id citation mechanism — evidence is cited by exact filename plus a reader-facing locator and a short verbatim quotation.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
