evidence-gather

evidence-gather is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from microsoft/cat-agent-skills. It costs 58 tokens per session (307 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

An evidence-register builder that lists documents and records relevant to mapped audit requirements. It records each item's type, date, area, person, and source identity without judging whether it is complete or current.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after mapping the audit scope to gather meeting minutes, audit reports, training records, calibration logs, and nonconformance records from supplied indexes or exports. It produces the evidence register.
Why use it?
It creates a traceable inventory for the later audit check. It avoids hiding old or missing-looking records, since their dates and absence help determine readiness.

About the project

microsoft/cat-agent-skills is a static website that catalogs reusable instruction sets and related packages for AI agents. People use it to search, filter, rate, and download skills for Cowork, Copilot Studio, and Scout, along with Copilot plugins and Scout automations. The catalogue entries are the skills, instructions, plugins, and settings displayed by the site.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00058 $0.00307
Opus 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00123
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00012 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

evidence-gather scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Evidence Gather

Purpose

Assemble the register the Govern engine validates: every candidate evidence item with type, date, area, person, and source identity.

When to use

After scope-map in every run.

Inputs

mapped.json; uploaded evidence indexes/exports (CSV/JSON/folder listings of minutes, audit reports, training records, calibration logs, NCR logs).

Steps

  1. For each required evidence type, list the items on file: type, date, area, person, doc id.
  2. Record dates exactly as documented - freshness is the engine's call, not this skill's.
  3. Write evidence.json.

Output

evidence.json - the register.

Grounding requirements

Every item cites its document id / export row.

Constraints

  • Gather only; no completeness or freshness judgments - "the folder looks full" is not a status.
  • Never omit an item because it looks old; the engine needs it to prove staleness.

Escalation / uncertainty

Evidence types with zero candidates are recorded as empty, not padded.

Files

What ships with it

4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
